Gu Ailing’s English name is Eiling Gu.
Gu Ailing, born in San Francisco, USA in 2003, is a Chinese-American mixed race, nicknamed "Frog Princess", and a Chinese female freestyle skier.
Gu’s surname was taken from her mother, and there is a reason for the name Ailing. Gu Ailing’s mother, Gu Yan, had a sister named Gu Ling who died in a car accident. Gu Yan also named her baby girl Gu Ailing in memory of her dear younger sister.
Character experience
In 2019, Gu Ailing began to represent China in international competitions. On December 14, 2020, she announced that she was admitted to Stanford University. In March 2021, she competed in the World Championships for the first time and won 2 golds and 1 bronze in the women's freestyle skiing halfpipe, freestyle skiing slopestyle, and freestyle skiing giant jump.
In the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Gu Ailing won two gold medals in the women's freestyle skiing big platform and freestyle skiing women's U-shaped pool, and a silver medal in freestyle skiing slope obstacle skills.
