tracing to the source, the ancestor is Huo. Huozhou is the place where Huo's ancestor at home and abroad started. According to the records in Surname Code and Guang Yun, the origin of Huo's surname dates back to the 11th century BC, more than 3,1 years ago in the early Western Han Dynasty. After Zhou Wuwang came to power, he sealed his brother's uncle (also known as Uncle Wu) in Huo and established Huo Guo (now huozhou city, Shanxi). Not long ago, Huozhou discovered the monument of Huoshu site, which lasted for three years in Qing Dynasty, which is another historical evidence of Huoguo's existence in history. After Shu Wu was sealed, he was called Huo Shu. After Zhou Wuwang destroyed the Shang Dynasty, he wanted to let the Shang nobles live and work in peace and contentment, and he was wary of their rebellion. He moved some nobles to Shandong and Shanxi, and ordered Huo Shu, Guan Shu and Cai Shu to be responsible for supervision, with great power, which was called "Three Supervisors". When they arrived in Zhou Chengwang, Guan Shu and Cai Shu colluded with Wu Geng, the son of Zhou Wang, to rebel, which was the "rebellion of managing Cai" in history. After the failure, Huo Shu was implicated and was abolished as a common people, but Huo Guo still existed, and the son of Huo Shu succeeded the monarch. It was not until the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, that is, in 661 BC, that Huo Guo was destroyed by Jin Taigong and returned to Jin, which was called Huo Yi. Later generations of Huo Jun took the original country name as their surname and called it Huo surname. Therefore, the ancient Huozhou is the original birthplace of China people with Huo surname, and it is also the place where Huo established his surname, multiplied and moved.
With the vicissitudes of history, there are only a handful of Huo clan members in Huozhou today. However, Gaodui Village, Yaodu District, Linfen City, which is very close, is inhabited by Huo clan members, who are descendants of generals in ancient times in the Han Dynasty, and have a memorial tablet of Huo Guang. Couplets summarizing Huo Guang's life are also hung on the doorpost of Huo Guang Temple. They have lived here for generations for more than two thousand years.
