Actually, this is related to historical development. First of all, the name Xiaohe came first, and other roads in the Xiaohe area were named in modern times, so they are not directly related to each other. Secondly, the name Xiaohe is not called for no reason, but comes from a local river and a bridge in the old days.
The Xiaohe area was originally just a small village. According to the "Guiyang Prefecture Chronicles" (dated during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty): "Xiaohe Bridge is ten miles south of the city and three miles east of it. Xiaoluojie, two miles to the south to Xiaozhuyan, two miles to the west to Zhongyanzhai, and North Eighth Road to Chaoyangdong. There are more than 30 households in the city. There is a small river coming from Hua Gelao and flowing down to the market for five miles. "The Sifang River meets the Nanming River." That is to say, during the Qing Dynasty, there was only one village in the Xiaohe area. In front of the village, there was a small river from Hua Gelao, also known as Huaxi, flowing westward and flowing into the upper reaches of the Nanming River after passing through the Sifang River. , this small river separates the past Guiyang City from Zhongcaosi. To facilitate walking, people built a single-hole stone bridge (in front of the current No. 44 Hospital). Common people call this bridge Xiaohe Bridge. Originally there were only about thirty households here, and everyone had to go to Zhongcaosi to buy and sell things.
It seems that the "small river" is not a section of the Nanming River, but a small stream that flows into the Sifang River. It is called a small river because of the small amount of water.
The original scope of Xiaohe was very small, starting from Xiaohe Bridge in the north, to the present-day Guizhou Diesel Engine Factory in the south, to the Xiaohuang River in the west, and to Huanghe Road in the east. Villages such as Xiaoluo Street, Dapo, Dazhai, and Zhuxian were not within the scope of Xiaohe at that time.
Forty-Fourth Hospital
The creek was not connected to a road until after the founding of New China. In 1954, the 44th Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army The hospital moved to Xiaohe, and industrial enterprises began to appear here. Later, Qianjiang Machinery Factory, Guiyang Bearing Factory, Electric Power Equipment Factory, Huayang Electric Factory, Guiyang Motor Factory, Diesel Engine Factory, Guiyang Cotton Mill and other enterprises successively moved to Xiaohe, forming the Xiaohe Industrial Zone. In 1993, the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone was established in Xiaohe, and the then Xiaohe Town of Huaxi District and the Xiaohe Subdistrict Office of Nanming District were merged and upgraded to Xiaohe Town under the jurisdiction of Guiyang City. In 2000, Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone was upgraded to a national economic and technological development zone and is now under the jurisdiction of Huaxi District.
Xiaohe is no longer a secluded village. It is full of high-rise buildings, densely populated and developed commerce. Xiaohe has also witnessed the rapid development of Guiyang city.
