Before 2000, whenever a typhoon came, the countries that might be affected would give it their own names, which led to many different names for the same typhoon.
Later, in order to avoid confusion, the World Meteorological Organization came up with a way. Because typhoon refers to tropical cyclone in Asia-Pacific region, it is named after Asia-Pacific region 14 countries and regions. Each country or region needs 10 names to form a typhoon naming table.
Therefore, the Thais put forward mangosteen, durian and other names, while the China people put forward the names of Dragon King and Fengshen. With this naming form, every time a typhoon comes, you just need to use the ready-made names in the form in order.
This not only solves the problem that the names of typhoons are not uniform, but also saves the trouble of countries choosing names before each typhoon comes. When all these names are used up, start from scratch and recycle them.
