1. Personal situation
My undergraduate degree is in applied chemistry, so I applied for chemical engineering. This is a professional master's degree. There are more people recruited than academic master's degrees. The test is usually English II and Mathematics 2 and a professional course. Generally speaking, you need to take the mathematics test for a professional master's degree. If your foundation is not very good and you don't want to take the mathematics test, you basically have to take the master's degree test. I definitely wanted to go ashore as soon as possible, and I didn’t really want to continue studying for a Ph.D., so when I was choosing between a professional master’s degree and an academic master’s degree, I chose the professional master’s degree without hesitation. I was very poor in mathematics and professional courses. After a series of careful consideration, I finally chose a professional master's degree.
2. Selection of major direction
Regarding the choice of major, the first thing to consider is the major related to your undergraduate major. If you really don’t like this major, consider it again. Cross exam.
(1) Advantages of choosing relevant majors:
① You already have four years of professional foundation. Even if your grades in this major are not good, they will still be better than those who took the cross-examination exam. has more advantages. And a large part of the exam questions are relatively basic, so the pressure of preparing for the exam will be much less.
② There are more students with whom I can communicate while preparing for the exam. In comparison, I am not so lonely and the mental burden is relatively small.
③ If you pass the preliminary examination, when taking the re-examination, the tutor will be more inclined to choose students with similar majors during their undergraduate years; if unfortunately you did not enter the re-examination, you are looking for a transfer school. When taking the exam, students whose undergraduate degree is in a related major have a greater chance of success in transfer than those who take the exam.
(2) Disadvantages of continuing to study related majors: The only disadvantage is that if you really don’t like this major, it will be very painful to continue studying for a three-year master’s degree. Think about it, you have studied for four years in a field you don't like, and you have to continue living a life you don't like for three more years. More likely, you will have to deal with things you don't like for decades after graduation. Isn't this kind of life very terrible?
(3) Advantages of taking the cross-examination: getting rid of the field you hate, you can start a new life. If your initial test scores are high enough, it is very possible to become a master in one attempt. From then on, your life will be happy, fulfilling, and beautiful.
(4) Disadvantages of cross-examination:
① The biggest disadvantage is the weak foundation. Others have been studying relevant knowledge for more than 4 years. If they prepare for the exam, their success rate will definitely be much higher than yours, and your pressure will be much greater.
② Students who take the cross-examination exam are usually lonely. Not only do they not have the company of their classmates, they often don’t even have the guidance of teachers. In short, it can be summed up in one word: fighting alone.
③ Another disadvantage is that you don’t know whether the major you are taking the exam is suitable for you. You have not been exposed to related fields before and do not understand what the relevant jobs are. Just like when you applied for a major after the college entrance examination, you did not understand, so you took the postgraduate entrance examination. The principle of both is the same.

Another roommate of mine simply wanted to graduate from a 985 school, so when she learned that Xiamen University’s materials and chemical engineering master’s degree scores were relatively low among 985, she applied for Xiamen University without hesitation. I also have a roommate who doesn’t want to take the math test. She found two professional courses at Nankai University that are more suitable for her, and then she applied for Nankai University.

4. Other considerations

I considered Sun Yat-sen University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Shanghai University, etc. In the end, the reasons why I passed these schools are as follows:

When I wanted to apply for Shanghai University, this was also the reason that pushed me back. It had a big impact. I also regretted why I didn’t study hard at that time, but regretting it at that time was of no use.
This also shows that if you are not particularly confident in yourself, then you might as well choose a height that is within your own ability and don’t make yourself miserable. After all, the postgraduate entrance examination is only a small stage in life. Besides taking the postgraduate entrance examination, there are other things you can do. . .
2. Exam preparation experience
The postgraduate entrance examination is divided into early, middle and late stages.
(1) Politics
In fact, I don’t have to worry about the review of political courses at the beginning. I basically only start reviewing in the last two months. I applied for a postgraduate entrance examination class - a postgraduate entrance examination in a university. In fact, this postgraduate entrance examination class was completely unnecessary. This is something I didn't understand until the end. Politics mainly involves memorizing Xiao Xiurong's questions in the later stages.
① September-October: In the early days, just read the knowledge points, and there is no need to spend a lot of time on politics.
② October-November: In the middle and late stages, I will study Xiao Xiurong’s choice questions. Of course, there are also questions from other teachers, but after comprehensive practice, I found that only Xiao Xiurong is needed. is enough. Usually at least two times, of course if you have the ability, there is no harm in brushing more. My time for writing questions is between half an hour and an hour after lunch or after lunch. I write the questions once and memorize the answers carefully, paying attention to the details. , sometimes the key to answering multiple-choice questions is that word.
③ November to before the exam: In the later period, it is time to memorize the major questions. Reviewing is easier. You only need to memorize Xiao Xiurong’s question bank, and there is no need to write anything else. Some students asked whether they need to buy answer sheets to practice? The answer is no, there is no point in practicing. As long as you can memorize the answers to the questions, it will be good. During the exam, just memorize them. The answer sheets are the same as those you wrote when you were in school. The handwriting must be neat and clear, and the serial number must be clearly marked.
However, a situation occurred during the 2022 political examination. The answers to the questions predicted by Teacher Xiao all appeared in the objective questions. This is something that we candidates cannot avoid. Just memorize the answers on time.
(2) English 2:
1. Vocabulary: Memorize words on time from beginning to end and improve your vocabulary. You can use small programs or APPs to memorize words. I use Scallop, which allows you to set the number of new words and old words you want. I think it is very easy to use (you can memorize 50 old words plus 50 new words at the beginning, and then slowly increase the amount to 100 old words and 100 new words). He who can recite it in different orders several times a day is truly a genius!
What you need to memorize for the postgraduate entrance examination is 2,200 core words plus 5,500 syllabus words and a few words that appear in the real questions. (Don’t worry that you can’t finish it, just do it as much as you can, just do it every day)
You should try your best to pass the English exam before March of the following year. If you don’t pass it, don’t be anxious and discouraged. Keep a good attitude and continue. Just take the time to memorize the words. Reading comprehension will start after 3 months. The number of words determines your reading comprehension rate.
2. Reading: The practice of reading questions is also a question of the amount of practice from beginning to end. The postgraduate entrance examination class I enrolled in has detailed explanations on reading, but I also watched online experts explain the reading questions. Better teachers include Tang Chi, Teacher Monkey, etc. You can first listen to the lectures taught by the teachers and listen to the methodology. After that, start reading comprehension exercises. When practicing, please pay attention to:

l? Don’t worry about not understanding, don’t be anxious, listen carefully to the teacher’s explanation and review it carefully.

Read the first chapter of the real test questions before September of the following year. During this period, the word memory cannot be broken!

My postgraduate entrance examination class at that time issued real questions, and then the teacher explained that it was really unnecessary to choose to think about it. There were so many big names on the Internet to read, so there was no need to spend money to register for the class. .
3. Long and difficult grammatical sentences
Students with poor basic skills must lay a solid foundation in grammar. You can follow Teacher Tang Chi's official account to practice. The official account has special exercises for long and difficult sentences, and they are all real questions from previous years, and there are video explanations, making it easy for people to understand. You can practice one or two sentences every day, as well as formulas and methods, which will help you practice.
Recommended teacher:
Liu Xiaoyan ("Isn't it Just Long and Difficult Grammar Sentences"): easy to understand, suitable for students with weak foundation.
Tian Jing ("The Truth in Every Sentence"): No nonsense, full of practical information, suitable for students who are generally poor in English.
4. Composition
Starting from September until before the exam: practice composition, the score is high, and it is easy to improve the score in a short time.
At the beginning, you can memorize teacher Wang Jiangtao’s composition template or teacher Pan Zhu’s class for one and a half hours a day. Memorize the specified sentence patterns, or change the words yourself and apply the format.

5. Translation
Start translation review in October. For English II, you can read Liu Xiaoyan The teacher's lectures are very brief and concise, or the teacher's lectures are very detailed. If you have enough time, you can watch this teacher's lectures, which are more sufficient.
Teacher Tang Jing recommends it. The splitting and explanation of sentences are more easy to understand. Following the whole process makes people feel more like doing questions in English.
6. New question types
Translation also starts in October. If you are short of time, you can watch one of Teacher Liu Xiaoyan’s classes. Or Teacher Song Yixuan’s class, which can be finished in two or three hours.

After watching the video lesson, read and translate every day, or practice reading and new question types at intervals.
7. Fill in the blanks
Starting from November, you can just do the cloze questions directly. Remember the new words and contact them. No simulation questions are required.

In fact, the review of mathematics requires not only new question types, but more importantly, basic questions. The points for difficult questions are very small. Practice more and memorize more, especially the linear algebra part. Sometimes you can’t understand why you need to solve the problem in this way, but you can write down the steps. Questions of the same type are basically in this order.
3. Real test questions (September to November)
It is very important to study real test questions. The most important thing for the postgraduate entrance examination is to study real test questions. To be honest, those simulated questions are not very important. There are a lot of simulation questions on the Internet, and the five sets of simulation questions are not as important as the set of real questions! If you master all the real questions, you will succeed 90%.
The time to complete a set of real questions is within 3 hours. You will definitely not be able to finish it at the beginning. Don’t be anxious. Just do as much as you can. If you can’t finish it, please refer to the analysis. Except for the real questions from the last three years, which are used for simulations, the rest of the real questions will be done several times to try to understand them.
4. Sprint stage (November - before the exam)
Simulation of real questions in the past three years (consistent with the exam time)! And look at the previous wrong questions! This is the main thing in the sprint stage. Don’t answer difficult questions or anything else. It’s useless. It’s important to answer wrong questions and see where you went wrong!
(4) Professional courses (inorganic chemistry):
There is no need to start reviewing so early for professional courses. The focus in the early stage should be mathematics. After all, mathematics is difficult for most people.

Return to the textbook and read the wrong questions again, especially calculation questions, such as acid-base neutralization, calculation, The processes are similar, just do the calculations a few times until you become proficient in the calculations. At the same time, I started to do the questions in the postgraduate entrance examination guide and the multiple-choice questions on the real questions. The exam questions in many schools are repeated every year. Even if they are not exactly the same, the question types are similar. Once you are proficient in the real questions, there will be no problems in the exam.
My first choice was Nanjing University of Science and Technology. My roommates were admitted to Yangzhou University and Xiamen University. Many of their real test questions were repeated every year, so I must pay attention to the real test questions. For auxiliary questions, you can ask seniors at the school to get their undergraduate final exam questions to practice.

3. Sprint stage (from November to before the exam)

Because the professional courses are tested in the afternoon, the review time I arranged for the professional courses is 2-3 hours in the afternoon, and cannot be more than 3 hours.
The knowledge points of inorganic chemistry are very broad and flexible, but for the postgraduate entrance examination, the questions will undoubtedly be the same types as the real questions, so don’t worry

3. Re-examination
I was a first-choice student at Nanjing University of Technology, but later I did not take the re-examination and chose to transfer to Jiangsu University. Regarding adjustments, I would like to say the following points:
