What is the difference between Ao and Xuanwu?

One dragon gives birth to nine sons, each of whom is different. Ao is a fish-dragon with the head of a dragon, the back of a turtle, and the tail of a unicorn. There is also a dragon on the Huabiao. At the entrance of the Emperor's Temple, there is a dragon with the body of a turtle and the head of a dragon. Among the nine sons, only one is the destined emperor. Another explanation: Ao, the legendary giant turtle or turtle in the sea. When Nuwa was patching up the sky, she once "cut off a turtle enough to stand on the four poles." There is also a legend that there are three fairy mountains carried by giant turtles in the East China Sea: Penglai, Fangzhang, and Yingzhou. Xuanwu is black, and the image is of a snake entwining a turtle. It is mentioned in Journey to the West that it later evolved into the two generals of turtle and snake under Emperor Xuanwu of the North. Emperor Xuanwu’s dojo was in Wudang Mountain, Hubei, so Wuhan was in a stalemate across the river. There are Turtle Mountain and Snake Mountain (also named according to their shapes). Turtles and snakes were considered spiritual animals in ancient China, symbolizing longevity. Before the Han Dynasty, nobles wore jade turtle pendants. Now in Japan, influenced by ancient China, turtle patterns are commonly used in naming and making emblems.
