How did the water from Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain come from?

Reasons why the water source of Changbai Mountain comes from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau;

This reflects the integrity of the earth's hydrosphere. Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the "water tower of Asia", and glaciers with abundant fresh water reserves are the important birthplaces of major rivers in Asia. The river flows from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to the surrounding low-lying areas. During this period, the evaporated water vapor clouds floated to the northeast of China and met with the uplift of Changbai Mountain range, forming atmospheric precipitation (snowfall), which is an important water supply for Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain.

In addition, stable groundwater recharge is also an important water source for Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain (the fundamental source of groundwater is atmospheric precipitation infiltration into the ground). Therefore, it can also be forcibly explained that Tianchi water comes from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Introduction to Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain

Changbai Mountain Tianchi, also known as Baitoushan Tianchi, is located in Changbai Mountain Nature Reserve, Jilin Province. Its waters belong to both China and North Korea, but there is a complete regional division. Tianchi is about 4400 meters long and 3370 meters wide. The elevation of the pool is close to 2200 meters, and the deepest part of the lake is 373 meters.

Because Tianchi is located in the center of Changbai Mountain, the ancients thought it was close to the sky, like a lake falling from the sky, so it was called Tianchi. This romantic naming method is still active in the eyes of the world. Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain is the best preserved complex volcano in China and the highest volcanic lake in the world.
