Peasant uprisings in two cities in the late Qing Dynasty
During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, there was a native Li Shuyin in Pei County, Jiangsu Province. He was dissatisfied with the rule of the Qing government and believed that he was of the same ethnicity as the Emperor Li Shimin of the Tang Dynasty. He admired Li Shimin , longing for the establishment of a prosperous society similar to Zhenguan Tang Dynasty. Because after Li's Tang Dynasty, there was a Later Tang Dynasty in history, so he named the dynasty he wanted to establish "Three Tang Dynasties", which means establishing the third "Tang Dynasty" in Chinese history.
He decided to look for places with good Feng Shui, planning to gather in the mountains and forests, occupy the mountains and become kings, rebel against the Qing Dynasty, and establish his ideal "Three Tangs".
According to the "Weishan County Chronicle" (published by Shandong People's Publishing House in October 1997), in the 34th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1908), Li Shuyin came to Dushan Bay in the north of Weishan Lake. Gugou Village (now Gugou Village, Liangcheng Town, Weishan County, Shandong Province).
Li Shuyin purchased more than 100 acres of local land and built stone bungalows and stone buildings for cultural and martial arts training in the north of Gugou Village and on the Yuhuangding Peak of Fenghuang Mountain in the Fushan Mountains north of Dushan Bay. After more than half a year of construction, the "Three Tang" village has begun to take shape. The village hall building was built on the top of the Jade Emperor as his headquarters. It also has a living area, a training area, a military defense area, and a military defense area at the peak of the mountain. , build alarm buildings, lookout posts and stone house castles next to the passes, and dig caves to store food, weapons and ammunition, and collect mountain spring water for drinking.
In the name of running a school and recruiting students, Li Shuyin established a team and an organizational structure. He named it "Santang Taoism" and claimed to be "Santang Taoist Master". He was the supreme ruler. By the Xuantong period of the Qing Dynasty, more than 300 people had gathered in the "Three Tang" village in Yuhuangding, which had a great influence in the local area.
Just when Li Shuyin was about to lead his team to capture Yutai County Government (Dushan Bay belonged to Yutai County, Shandong Province at that time), due to a report from a local man named Qu Yuange, the Qing government's Shandong governor mobilized Jining More than 5,000 soldiers from five counties, Yanzhou, Zouxian, Yutai and Tengxian, sealed off the area around Dushan Bay on the morning of the second day of March in the third year of Xuantong in the Qing Dynasty (1911) to encircle and suppress the "Three Tang Dynasties". Under the command of Li Shuyin, the disciples of "Three Tang Dynasties" fought with the Qing soldiers, causing most casualties. Seeing that the situation was over, Li Shuyin's military advisor Qu Yanxiu ignited the gunpowder and burned down the building together with some of his close followers in Zhaitang Tower. In this battle, more than 40 disciples of "Three Tang" were captured, and later all were killed. "Three Tang Taoism" was destroyed from then on.
Spring has passed and autumn has come, and the vicissitudes of life have changed. Nowadays, the top of the Jade Emperor in Phoenix Mountain has been deserted. Only the wall standing in the mountain wind is still telling the world about the fierce battles and heroic events of that year. . The "Three Tang" cottage buildings and walls still exist, and the story of the "Three Tang" uprising against the Qing Dynasty is still widely spread in southwestern Shandong.
