Yue Opera: It is mainly popular in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. Because all the characters in the opera are played by women, it is also called women's drama. It originated from the "Du Ban" in Sheng County, Zhejiang Province, and entered Shanghai around 1916. After 1938, the name "Yue Opera" was used. His representative works include Dream of Red Mansions, Butterfly Lovers, Romance of the West Chamber, Five Women Offering Birthdays, etc.
Henan Opera: also known as "Henan Bangzi". At the end of Ming Dynasty, Shaanxi Bangzi, which was introduced into Henan, was developed by combining Henan dialect and folk tunes, and now it is popular in Henan, Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong and other provinces. Representative works include Mulan and Mu Guiying.
Huangmei Opera: Originated from Anhui, it is popular in Anhui, Jiangxi and Hubei. Its predecessor was the tea-picking tune in Huangmei area, and after the middle of Qing Dynasty, it formed a folk opera called "Huangmei tune", which was sung in Anqing dialect. Representative works: Female Xu, Fairy Match, etc.
