Question 1: I want to buy a collection of Rabindranath Tagore’s poems. Which publisher and translated version is better? I am also a poetry lover and have bought many poetry books. My personal feeling is that it is published by Shaanxi Normal University Press, printed by Beijing Wenlinyuan Printing Co., Ltd., and highly recommended by China Reading Network. It is included in Chinese and English, and the translated works are by: the advocate of my country's New Culture Movement during the New Culture Movement, and after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Zheng Zhenduo, a member of the first and second National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice Minister of Culture, and Director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. (The translation is very good!) All foreign black and white oil paintings and religious paintings are used in the book. Overall, this version of "Collected Poems of Rabindranath Tagore" is very good!
Question 2: Which Chinese translation of Rabindranath Tagore's Birds is better? There are currently two translations of "The Collection of Birds" on the market (it is said that Bing Xin has also translated "The Collection of Birds" but has never seen it.)
One version was translated by Zheng Zhenduo
The other version is translated by Wu Yan
(Relatively speaking, the quality of the poems translated by Bing Xin is higher, and Bing Xin himself has a more thorough understanding of Tagore’s poems)
Comparing from all aspects, Zheng Zhenduo is even better than Wu Yan. In many places, sentences from "The Collection of Flying Birds" are quoted.
They are all quoted from Zheng Zhenduo's translation, which shows that Zheng Zhenduo's translation is even better.
(Also, single poetry collections mostly use Zheng’s translation, and Wu’s translation often appears in the entire collection)
But this does not mean that Wu Yan’s translation is not good, there are many merits in it. If you want to read Tagore's poems intensively, I suggest you buy both versions (it's not very expensive).
(It is best to have the original English text. A single copy of "The Collection of Flying Birds" is too small, so the original English text is usually included)
Here I recommend the "New Collection of Flying Birds" published by China Overseas Chinese Publishing House. "Monthly Collection" (hardcover collection) is priced at 18 yuan
Or "The Collection of Birds" (including the original English version) by Foreign Language Research Press
Beijing Yanshan Publishing House once published "The Collection of Birds" in February 2000 "Complete Collection of Prose Poems by Tagore" (hard to find now)
This edition covers Rabindranath Tagore's middle and late works such as "Second Collection", "Black Cow Collection", and "Yepan Collection" that are rarely available on the market today.
Price: 16 yuan

One version was translated by Zheng Zhenduo
The other version was translated by Wu Yan
(relatively speaking, Bing Xin translated The quality of the poems is higher, and Bing Xin himself has a more thorough understanding of Tagore's poems)
From all aspects of comparison, Zheng Zhenduo is better than Wu Yan. In many places, he quotes sentences from "The Collection of Birds",
They are all quoted from Zheng Zhenduo’s translation, which shows that Zheng Zhenduo’s translation is more excellent.
(In addition, single poetry collections mostly use Zheng’s translation, and Wu’s translation often appears in the entire collection)
But this does not mean that Wu Yan’s translation is not good. There are many merits in it. If you want to read Tagore’s poems intensively,
I suggest you buy both versions (also Not very expensive).

Question 4: Which version of Tagore's poetry is the best? Translated by Lu Jinde from Yilin Publishing House.
Recommended by Liu Yong

Forever Shining - Comment on Zheng Zhenduo’s Translation of Tagore’s Poems
(Selected from the Internet) < /p>
1. Several collections of Tagore's poems that are easy to find
Nowadays, Tagore's poems are not difficult to find. The English version can be found online; those who are unable or prefer to read the Chinese version can also read the People's Literature Publishing House's "Selected Poems of Rabindranath Tagore" (Bing Xin) in addition to various selected volumes and Chinese-English versions. , translated by Shi Zhen, first edition in 1958), and "The Complete Collection of Prose Poems of Tagore" published by Zhejiang Literature and Art Publishing House (first edition in 1990). They have been reprinted many times. The former is also regarded as one of the extracurricular reading books and has been reprinted in recent years. It was reprinted with a plainly designed cover and recommended to students across the country.
Although the so-called "Complete Collection of Prose Poems of Tagore" is not complete, after reading "Selected Poems of Tagore", you can read most of Tagore's poems. However, is this enough? When reading these two books, does Tagore tend to give you the feeling of "nothing more than that"?
If this is the case, then you need to look for the Shanghai New Literature Edition of Rabindranath Tagore's poetry collection. It doesn’t matter if you can’t find it. Starting from 1981, Shanghai Translation Publishing House has republished this collection of poems with a more complete variety than before. For example, Wu Yan’s translation of “Lover’s Gift” was first published in 1984. This set of books was completely reprinted in 1987. Is this enough? If after reading them, Tagore will still give you the feeling of "no more than that", that is far from enough. At this time, you need to look for two separate volumes of humanities editions as supplements:
"New Moon Collection" translated by Zheng Zhenduo (first edition in 1954)
"Gitanjali" translated by Bing Xin (1955) First edition)
Both of these lovely little books were reprinted at least until 1989. That should be enough, right?
No.
Not enough.
Not enough.
If you want to see more translations of Rabindranath Tagore's poems by Siddhi, that's not enough.
Therefore, you should go back to the past. Those who are obsessed with Xiti's poetry translation, please come with me.
Let us open the "Literature Weekly" together and retrieve Tagore's poems translated by Zheng Zhenduo from the bygone era.
Find those pure and beautiful translated poems, and find Tagore who was distorted by them.
If you want to see more translations of Rabindranath Tagore's poems by Siddhi, please follow me.
2. A review of Xidi’s translation of Tagore’s poems published in “Literature Weekly”
Translating Tagore’s poems is, of course, by no means exclusive to Xidi.
In the 30th issue of "Literary Weekly" published on March 1, 1922 (then known as "Literature Weekly", it was named "Literature" in the 81st issue, and in the 172nd issue it was named "Literature Weekly" ), you can see two "Tagore" poems:
One is "Defamation", translated by Xu Peide from "New Moon Collection";
The other is " "Gardener's Collection" No. 67" (actually No. 70, the newspaper published it incorrectly), translated by [Emin].
Around the time these two translated poems were published, Xidi was also translating Tagore’s poems one after another.
In the summer of 1922, "The Flying Birds" selected and translated by Zheng Zhenduo was published by the Commercial Press, including 257 translated poems, "accounting for more than three-quarters of the total" (New Preface to "The Flying Birds" by Zheng Zhenduo) , the remaining 69 poems were supplemented in translation in 1956; in the autumn of 1923, "Crescent Collection" selected and translated by Zheng Zhenduo was published by the Commercial Press, including 31 translated poems, and the remaining 9 poems were supplemented in 1954.
Before August 1923, the New Moon Collection translated by Wang Duqing (1898-1940) had been published by Creation Press. This was probably the first complete translation of the New Moon Collection. In the first edition of "Xinghai" of the Commercial Press in August 1924 (photocopied by Shanghai Bookstore in 1988), there is a "Catalog of Recent Literary and Art Publications", which mentions:
The Collection of Flying Birds, written by Tagore, Selected Poems of Tagore in the Series of Zheng Zhenduo’s Selected and Translated Literature Research Society
New Moon Collection, written by Tagore, Selected Poems of Tagore’s Poems in the Series of Zheng Zhenduo’s Selected and Translated Literature Research Society
New Monthly Collection, written by Tagore, published by Wang Duqing Translation Creation Society
Why is the publication time of Wang Duqing's translation limited to before August 1923? The 85th issue of "...>>" published on August 27, 1923
Question 7: Who knows which publisher or translator of Rabindranath Tagore's poetry collection is the most classic? "Selected Poems of Tagore" published by People's Literature Publishing House and translated by Xie Bingxin, Shi Zhen, Zheng Zhenduo and Huang Yushi is a better translation. I've seen it, it's really good
