"Hard-effort Meal" is located next to Kuanzhai Alley in Chengdu. It is said that the name "Effortless Meal" comes from Sun Yat-sen's last words: "The revolution has not yet succeeded, comrades still need to work hard"; the other source is the postscript "Farewell Book" of Zhuo Wenjun's poem "White Head Yin":
“Spring blossoms are fragrant, the five colors are pure, the harp is still in the palace, and the new sound is new!... The red string is broken, the mirror is missing, the morning dew is dim, the fragrance breaks, the white head sings, the pain is parting, Don’t miss me if you try to eat more, Jinshui soup will make you farewell!"
In any case, the name of the restaurant "Food for Difference" means a place to eat with effort, and it is a place where you can eat hard." A piece of elegance and vulgarity that is highly appreciated.
There is also a Che Yaoxian Memorial Hall in the Hall.
In fact, this "hard-working restaurant" in Chengdu opened in 1931. It was originally located on Sanqiao South Road (now Renmin South Road), Chengdu, and later moved to Ancestral Street, with Che Yaoxian (then the Founded in the name of a member of the Sichuan Special Committee of the Communist Party of China, who used business as a cover and engaged in revolutionary work), it features Sichuan-style popular meals. In 1938, Deng Yingchao met Che Yaoxian here, and on behalf of Zhou Enlai, he hosted Sha Qianli, Shi Liang and other famous anti-Japanese gentlemen at the "Effort Dinner".
After Che Yaoxian was arrested in the winter of 1944, the restaurant was continued to be run by his wife and brother. Its main famous dishes include "Kung Pao Chicken" and "Assorted Raw Roasts" in order to "strive to create a place for the public to eat." For the purpose, we advocate the quality of "diligence, thrift and hard work" and create the first "fast food restaurant" for modern civilians. In 1956, "Hard-effort Food" became a state-owned enterprise after a public-private partnership transformation, and was affiliated to the Ancestral Street Store of Chengdu Catering Company. In 1984, due to the expansion of People's Park, the relevant departments demolished the old "Hard-effort Restaurant" on Ancestral Street and rebuilt it on Jinhe Road not far away according to its original scale and style. On July 22, 1985, the Chengdu Municipal People's Government announced "Efforts to Eat" as a cultural relic protection unit, becoming a local restaurant filled with revolutionary sentiments.
