About 30,000 years ago, the sea level dropped again by more than 140 meters, and the Japanese archipelago was connected to the Jiaoliao ancient continent. In the Neolithic Age, the ancestors of the Qingqiu tribe living in Xiaozhu Mountain, Guanglu Island, Changhai County, transformed from hunters into fishermen, and spread all over Changhai, Ganjingzi, Lushunkou, Anbo Town in Pulandian, Changxing Island and Zhuang in Wafangdian. 1500 BC to 1000 BC
Xiang Tu moved from the present-day Liaodong area to Shangqiu, Henan, and opened up a route from Penglai to Dalian. By the time of Emperor Xin, the society in Dalian had been transformed into the Fang Kingdom. Taking the Shuangtuozi site as an example, the area had been deeply influenced by Shandong Yueshi Culture. During the late Shang Dynasty, a large number of stone sheds appeared in the Liaodong Peninsula, as well as a large number of tomb utensils, which reflected that the local ancients made a living by fishing and collecting shellfish, and gradually switched to farming and animal husbandry.
1000 BC to 500 BC
During the Spring and Autumn Period, the bronze culture in Dalian became increasingly prosperous, and its representative work was the bronze curved-edged dagger. In 685 BC, Duke Huan of Qi immigrated to Liaodong in batches in order to develop Liaodong. During this period, Qi State also sent troops to attack Shanrong to save Yan State. In the sixth year of Qi Linggong (567 BC), the Qi State destroyed the Lai State (today's Jiaodong area). After the defeat, the Lai people fled across the sea and migrated to the Liaodong Peninsula and Dalian area on a large scale. In addition, residents in the lower reaches of the Yellow River also took refuge in Liaodong along the above routes during times of war and famine. In addition to bronze daggers, important cultural relics from the Western Weekend and Spring and Autumn Periods unearthed in Dalian also include bronze chisels, bronze axes, bronze knives, bronze spears, bronze mirrors and pottery, etc., all of which are the basis for the immigration wave at that time.
From 500 BC to the first year of the year
The rise of the Yan State made Liaodong, including the Dalian area, become the territory of the Yan State. Since King Yan Zhao established "Liaodong County" in Liaodong during the Warring States Period, until the Qin and Han Dynasties, the Dalian area was under the jurisdiction of Liaodong County.
From the first year to 500th year
During the Western Han Dynasty, "Yuxian County" was established in Dalian, and during the Three Kingdoms period it was renamed "Dongyu County". The Dalian area was called "Three Mountains" during the Jin Dynasty. Before the Wei Dynasty, it was Liaodong ruled by the Han Gongsun family. Jin refers to the Western Jin Dynasty ruled by the Han Sima family, Yan refers to the former Yan ruled by the Murong family of Xianbei, and Qin refers to the former Qin ruled by the Fu family of Di.
500~1000
When the mainland was ruled by the Southern and Northern Dynasties and the Sui Dynasty, for a long time, the Dalian area had been in the Goguryeo era ruled by the Gao family from Fuyu. In the early Tang Dynasty, the Dalian area fell under the administrative jurisdiction of Jili Prefecture, the Andong Protectorate. The Dalian area was called "Sanshanpu" during the Tang Dynasty.
1000~1500
During the Liao Dynasty, the Dalian area was under the jurisdiction of Liaoyang Prefecture in Tokyo. Liao established Suzhou and Fuzhou. Jin changed Suzhou to Jinzhou. In the Yuan Dynasty, Jin Fuzhou Wanhu Mansion was established. The Jinzhou Guard was established. The Jinzhou Hall was established. In the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was called "Sanshanhaikou" and "Qingniwakou".
1500~2000
In 1897, Tsarist Russian designers came to Dalian with the urban construction drawings of Paris, France, and wanted to build a city based on squares here. He was named "Dalini", which means "distant city", a place far away from the Russian capital. In 1905 (Meiji 38), the Japanese occupied the city and changed "Dalni" to "Dalian". Dalian City, Kanto Prefecture, Japan, was born in the Meiji Era, experienced the Taisho Era, and perished in the Showa Era. In 1945, with the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Dalian was internationalized according to the Yalta Treaty and Soviet troops were stationed. In 1955, the Soviet army handed over Luda to the management of the People's Republic of China until now.

On August 14, 2011, a civil protest movement took place in Dalian against the paraxylene (chemical industry abbreviation PX) chemical engineering project. Japanese media reported that approximately 12,000 people participated in the demonstration, which was the largest protest in northern China since the April 6th incident. The number of participants has exceeded the scale of similar incidents in China in recent years.
This incident prompted the Dalian Municipal Party Committee and the Dalian Municipal People's Government to make the decision to immediately suspend production and relocate the Fujia Dahua PX project on the same day. On the night of the demonstration, a large number of armed police were dispatched to disperse the demonstrators.
