Chenxiang Village is located at the northern end of Hangtou Town, on the east side of Hunan Highway, adjacent to Zhouputangdong Community to the north and Wanglou Village to the east , bordering Hedong Village in the south, the village area is about 4.5 square kilometers, and there are 27 villager groups in the village. The place name Agarwood is named after the legend that there is a wooden bridge built of agarwood in the east of Zhoujiabang in the area. Legend has it that a long time ago, a wooden bridge was built on Zhoujiabang in Group 8 of Chenxiang Village to facilitate the communication of people on both sides of the river, and it was named Zhoujiabang Bridge. One day, a businessman from Jiangxi (it is said that Jiangxi people know treasures) passed by here and realized that the wood of this bridge was agarwood, and agarwood is a treasure among woods. For this reason, this man deliberately damaged the bridge when he was passing by with his boat. The people nearby were very angry and asked him to repair it. The businessman was secretly happy, pretended to be kind, and readily agreed to repair a stone bridge for everyone. The people nearby were very happy and agreed. . Jiangxi people got a bargain, immediately purchased stones, hired masons, and built day and night. Soon after the stone bridge was completed, Jiangxi people dragged away the bridge timber and left one as a souvenir for the villagers before leaving, explaining that the wood was agarwood. Wood. It was only then that the people nearby realized that they had been deceived and regretted it. In order to let future generations remember the shame, work hard and overcome ignorance, the stone bridge was named "Agarwood Stone Bridge". After liberation, due to the mechanization of farming, the original Sanjie Stone Bridge was transformed into a flat cement bridge, but the villagers still called it "Agarwood Bridge", and the villagers of Agarwood Village came from this. In the Qing Dynasty, most of the territory of Chenxiang Village was under the jurisdiction of the 19th District and the 4th District. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of Zhoupu Town, Tanzhi Township and Xilian Township. During the Republic of China, some areas came under the jurisdiction of Shendong Township in Zhoupu District; some areas came under the jurisdiction of Zhaolou Cucang Township, Xiasha Township, and Guhe Township; some areas came under the jurisdiction of Tanbei Township and Tanzhi Township in Xinchang District. At the beginning of liberation, the northern part of Agarwood belonged to Shenzhuang Township, Shenzhuang District, the southern part belonged to Xiasha Township, Xiasha District, and the eastern part belonged to Tanxi Township, Xinchang District. In 1956, it was affiliated to Yutan Township, Shenzhuang District. In September 1958, it was the Sixth Battalion of Xiasha People's Commune. In 1959, it was changed to the Agarwood Production Brigade. In 1984, it was renamed Agarwood Village. In July 2002, due to the merger of Hangtou and Xiasha towns, it became Hangtou town. In October 2002, it merged with Baiqiang Village and Guoyuan Village to form the current Chenxiang Village. It consists of the natural village Guoyuan Village, Baiqiang Village and Agarwood Village. The total population is 6,000 people. Among them: there are 1,887 households in the village, with a population of 4,328, 135 people on rural insurance, 4,143 people on town insurance, 50 people on urban insurance, and 1,672 migrants.
