The development history of vehicle infotainment systems

In March 2009, BMW, Delphi, General Motors, Intel, Peugeot Citro?n Group, Visteon Corporation and Wind River Systems established the GENIVI organization. They are working together to take advantage of the high performance of Intel Atom processor to create an open sharing platform for in-vehicle information systems.

In May 2009, Volkswagen and Intel released the "Global Development and Research Infotainment Architecture" based on the Intel platform, which was launched three years later.

In January 2010, the BMW 7 Series released the third-generation i-driver in-vehicle information system.

At the Beijing Auto Show in April 2010, international brands such as Toyota, Lexus, Honda, and PSA rushed to release models containing in-vehicle information systems and made the in-vehicle information system the focus of product promotion.

In August 2009, the Automotive Electronics Branch of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, INTEL, China Telecom, and Blue Star Technology successfully held the "IVI&3G First Summit Forum" in China Optics Valley, Wuhan. Blue Star Technology released an INTEL-based ATOM platform and vehicle-mounted IVI platform products for telecommunications 3G networks.

At the Beijing IDF Conference in April 2010, INTEL Global Vice President Douglas Davis and Huatai Vice President Wang Dianming*** jointly launched the world's first IVI car based on the INTEL platform provided by Blue Star. At the Beijing Auto Show in April 2010, domestic innovative automobile companies represented by FAW, SAIC, and Huatai released real vehicles based on in-vehicle information systems, while manufacturers such as Changan, Chery, and Geely also launched concept cars with IVI functions.

In April 2010, Huatai, INTEL, and Blue Star jointly released the world's first INTEL platform IVI car - Huatai Yuantian B11. Huatai's system was named TIVI.

At the Guangzhou Auto Show in December 2010, Geely also released its own IVI system - G-NetLink. There is a demonstration video of Geely G-NetLink on Cheji.com. On April 26, 2012, during the Beijing Auto Show, Desay SV joined hands with HTC, a global leader in mobile phone innovation and design, to sign a strategic cooperation agreement with HTC in Beijing. At the same time, it released a new generation of in-vehicle infotainment system SiVi LINK at the conference.
