The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is located in the hinterland of China and is the general name for the three canyons of Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. It starts from Baidi City in Fengjie, Chongqing in the west, ends at Nanjinguan in Yichang, Hubei in the east, and spans Fengjie, Chongqing, Wushan, Chongqing, Badong, Zigui, Hubei, and Yichang, Hubei, with a length of 193 kilometers. It is also often referred to as the "Big Three Gorges". After traveling to the famous Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, let me help you write a guide composition to express your emotions.
?
Ladies and gentlemen:
When traveling to the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, you can go down the river from Chongqing and enjoy the unique scenery of the Three Gorges in quick shots, or you can Sail upstream from Shanghai, Nanjing or Wuhan and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Yangtze River at a slow pace. However, starting from Yichang, the gateway to the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, and enjoying the magical and beautiful Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is the best starting point for Yangtze River Three Gorges tourism.
The Three Gorges of the Yangtze River starts from Nanjinguan in Yichang City, Hubei Province in the east and ends at Baidi City in Fengjie County, Chongqing City in the west. It consists of Xiling Gorge, Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge, with a total length of 193 kilometers. It is the essence of Yangtze River scenery and a treasure in China's landscape. It has shone with charming brilliance through the ages and has attracted countless Chinese and foreign tourists. Friends, let’s start the magical and magnificent trip to the Three Gorges?
○ With a total length of 76 kilometers, it is the longest canyon among the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. Because it is located to the west of Xisai of Chu and Yiling (the ancient name of Yichang), it is called Xiling Gorge. Xiling Gorge is famous for its dangers and wonders. The wonders and dangers turn into the magnificence of Xiling Gorge. There are "Three Beaches" (Xietan, Qingtan, and Kongling Beach) and "Four Gorges" (Dengying Gorge, Huangniu Gorge, Niugan Mafei Gorge, and Bingshu Baojian Gorge) in Xiling Gorge. There are gorges in the gorges and gorges in the beaches. There are large beaches and small beaches, and there are many beaches and fast water. Since ancient times, Three Gorges boatmen have been fighting against the rapids and rapids here for generations. ?The middle part of Xiling Gorge is thick and thick, and the beaches are full of ghosts. ? With the completion of the Gezhouba Project and the water storage, the backwater has returned hundreds of miles, the water level has risen, and the dangerous shoals and reefs have always slept on the bottom of the river. In addition, after the liberation of the waterway, the wonders of rapid water in the middle beach of Xiling Gorge and the spectacular scene of boatmen fighting in the current are no longer available. See you again. Today we can enjoy the magnificent Three Gorges Project and the wonderful scenery on both sides of Xiling Gorge along the way.
◎Nanjinguan
This is Nanjinguan, the starting point of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River, and the dividing line between the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River. The famous Xiling Gorge Scenic Area is built here, which is a national scenic spot and a provincial tourist resort. The main attractions are Leizu Temple, Taohua Village, Baima Cave, Sanyou Cave, Xialao Stream, Longquan Cave, Xianren Stream and Wuzhou Leisure Park and other attractions. After passing through Nanjinguan, the river narrows from about 2,000 meters to 300 meters, and what you see in front of you is a magnificent picture of colorful and diverse scenery.
◎ Dengying Gorge
After passing Nanjin Pass and heading west for about 10 kilometers, you will arrive at Dengying Gorge. Dengying Gorge is also known as Mingyue Gorge. Although the gorge is not long, the scenery is extraordinary. It can be said that there are no peaks or cliffs, and there are springs all over the water. The walls of the canyon are clear and pleasant, pure and without any color, as if they were carefully polished by heavenly craftsmen. When the clear gorge wall is set off by the clear sky, it looks like a Chinese ink painting. The cliff wall is reflected in the river, and the quiet shadow is clear and green; the rustling river water adds to the brightness and beauty. If you pass here at night and the moon hangs over the Western Mountain, the "pure realm" formed by the colors of the mountains and water under the moonlight is indescribable. The so-called "Mingyue Gorge" is named after this. Dengying Gorge is shaped like a landscape. There are four strange rocks on Maya Mountain on the left side of the boat (south bank), which resemble the vivid image of the four monks and apprentices in "Journey to the West" who returned happily after studying for Buddhist scriptures in the West: Sun Wukong, holding a canopy in his hands, went forward to explore the path. ; Zhu Bajie, who is holding his belly and swaying with each step; Monk Sha, who is shouldering a heavy burden and following closely; Monk Tang, who is riding safely and clasping his hands slowly. The image is lifelike, vivid, lifelike, and wonderful. Whenever the setting sun shines at night, looking from the distance in the gorge, it looks very much like the characters in a shadow play (called "Dengying Play" by the locals), hence the name Dengying Gorge.
◎ Fairy Bridge
Soon after the boat continued westward, a natural stone bridge with a span of 15 meters and a width of only more than 1 meter was visible in the north of the river. This is the Fairy Bridge.
This is the best place to appreciate the beautiful scenery of Xiling. Standing on the Immortal Bridge and looking down, you can have a panoramic view of most of the Xiling Gorge, which is hundreds of miles up and down. You can see clouds rolling in thin waves, mist and smoke, thousands of boats, shaped like willow leaves. , making people feel like they are in heaven. Legend has it that there was a woodcutter who was loved by a fairy, but there was a road between immortals and mortals, so it was difficult for them to get married. The fairy threw down her skirt and turned into a fairy bridge to extradite the woodcutter onto the stage. Tian Jun, a poet of the Song Dynasty, has a poem that goes: "White clouds cover the Immortal Bridge, and the water below the Immortal Bridge is rough. When the boat passes here, I stop and ask, but I don't see the immortal in the sky!".
◎ Huangniu Gorge
Take a boat and continue going west for about 10 kilometers. Looking southward, you can see a row of steep stone walls among the colorful clouds. There are nine winding and drooping cliffs under the cliff. The green ridge looks like a dragon descending into the water, and is very majestic. The stone wall that emerged from the sky is Huangniu Rock, and the valley below the rock is Huangniu Gorge.
The Huangniu Gorge is dotted with rocks and canines. In the meantime, the river is like a nine-winding ileum, the whirlpools are like rolling boiling water, and the water is rapid and the reefs are dangerous, so it is known as Huangniu Beach. The ancient song goes out: The ox is sent in the morning, and the ox is lodged in the evening. It is too late to travel three times in the morning and three in the evening. Three mornings and three evenings passed, and my temples became silky. ?This reflects the difficulty of entering the water on a wooden boat in the past, because this section of the river is not only fast, but also has many reefs. It is very difficult to enter the water on a wooden boat, and you have to be careful at all times, so it travels very slowly.
The origin of the name scalper runs through the mythical story of Xia Yu opening a river to control floods. According to legend, the Jade Emperor gave birth to Xia Yu and came to earth to control the floods. At the same time, he sent gods from the lower realms to assist him. When he led his people to dig the current Huangniu Gorge, the gods turned into sacred cows and came to help. One day, at dawn, a peasant woman brought tea and rice to the peasant man who was controlling the flood. When she came to the river, she suddenly saw a huge, majestic ox, surrounded by the glow of the sun, prancing with hoofs raised, and angrily touching the mountain with its horns. Suddenly the mountain collapsed and the rocks cracked, with a sound like thunder. The civilian girl was so frightened that she shouted loudly. The cry alarmed the sacred cow, and it jumped down the rock. From now on, the image will remain on the stone wall. Legend has it that Zhuge Liang also wrote this in "Huangling Temple Records": When I look at the repeated stone walls of the river, I can see images and shadows, and the man with sideburns and crowns looks like a painter. A flag is erected in front, and a yellow calf is stationed on the right; there is a black rock in front, shaped like a lucky morning cow. ?Who is driving the ox, and when will you go? This is people's beautiful imagination of conquering nature. The ox symbolizes the great creativity of the people in transforming rivers and mountains. The oxen helped Yu open the river, and the ancients built a oxen temple at the foot of the mountain to offer sacrifices during the four seasons. Today, Huangniuyan Ecological Tourism Zone, a national debt-supported project with an investment of 390 million yuan, is under construction.
◎ Zhongbao Island? The site of the Three Gorges Dam
After passing the Xiling Yangtze River Bridge, we arrived at the site of the Three Gorges Dam. It was originally a rectangular island called Zhongbao Island. It was the dam site selected by Premier Zhou Enlai personally. Zhongbao Island is a magical island. No matter how big a flood occurred in history, this small island could not be flooded. The huge flood in 1870 flooded Huangling Temple, which was much higher than Zhongbao Island, but failed to flood Zhongbao Island. There is still no convincing scientific explanation for the mystery of why the island rises when the water rises.
The diversion channel now used by ships is 3,410 meters long and 350 meters wide. The width accounts for about 1/3 of the entire Yangtze River. It is the main project completed in the first phase of the Three Gorges Project. Since 1997 It will be officially opened to navigation on October 1 and will be valid for 6 years. After 2003, ships traveling on the Yangtze River will only need to divert to the double-line five-level ship lock on the north bank (which can pass 10,000-ton fleets) and the single-line first-level vertical ship lift (which can quickly pass 3,000-ton passenger and cargo ships). The tall building on the right side of the boat is the Three Gorges Dam. It is a concrete gravity dam with a dam crest elevation of 185 meters, a total dam crest length of 2,309 meters, and a normal water storage level of 175 meters. The total installed capacity of the Three Gorges Hydropower Project is 1,820 kilowatts, and the annual power generation is more than 84.7 billion kilowatt hours. On the left side of the boat is the first city of Three Gorges immigrants? Zigui New County.
◎ Mountain Gorge
After the boat passed the Three Gorges Dam, and then headed west for about 10 kilometers, it entered a steep canyon, which is the famous Mountain Gorge in the Three Gorges. . The steep cliffs of Kongling Gorge are as sharp as an ax and a knife. This gorge is also called Kongleng Gorge, with a total length of about 2.5 kilometers.
According to the description in "Yu Di Ji Sheng", it has steep cliffs and rapid turbulence. It is very difficult to pull a boat. It is necessary to empty the boat before you can cross. Between the cliffs on both sides of the strait lies the world-famous dangerous shoal - Kongling Beach. The water here is fast and the water is densely covered with large and small rocks. Therefore, there is a saying: "The Qingtan Beach is not a beach, but the Mountains are the gateway to hell." The folk song has been passed down for thousands of years. There was originally a rock protruding out of the water in the gorge, with three characters "To me" engraved on it. When a ship passes here, it must head straight for this reef, so that it can use the backlash of the flowing water to safely pass by the rock; if it tries to avoid it, it will be hit and sunk by it instead. In 1900, a foreign ship sailed into the Xiajiang River. The captain did not know the secret of the rocks on the Xiajiang River, and did not listen to the warnings of the Xiajiang sailors. He did not dare to go straight to the rocks. As a result, he was hit and sunk by the rocks. After liberation, after many channel adjustments, this reef was blown up. After the completion of Gezhouba Dam, the water level rose and the dangerous shoals no longer existed. The ship passed here safely, but it was missing a sufficiently exciting sight.
◎ Niugan Mafei Gorge
After leaving the Mountain Gorge, after a short walk, we entered the Niugan Mafei Gorge. Niugan Mafei Gorge is 4.5 kilometers long. Where Jiuwan River (a rafting product has been developed and is very popular among tourists) enters the Yangtze River, on the cliffs on the opposite bank (north bank), there are several overlapping and drooping yellow-brown rocks, shaped like beef liver, and next to it there is a rock shaped like The lung-shaped rock is called Ma Lung, so this section of the canyon was named Niugan Ma Fei Gorge. The so-called "cow liver stone" and "horse lung stone" are actually stalactites formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonate in groundwater.
Everyone, please see that the bovine liver stone remains intact, while the lower half of the horse lung stone is incomplete. This was caused by the British imperialist warships that invaded the Xiling Gorge in the 26th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty (1900) and shelled the rocks on both sides. , knocked out the lower half of the horse's lung, and also left behind the crime of British imperialism invading our country's great rivers and mountains. Mr. Guo Moruo condemned the crimes of British imperialism in invading our country and ravaging the great rivers and mountains in the poem "Crossing the Xiling Gorge Two Poems" with a poem that resembles a military book and a sword, and horse lung and ox liver that talk about bandit madness.
◎ Bingshu Baojian Gorge
After passing Xintan, we arrived at Bingshu Baojian Gorge. In the crevice of the cliff on the north bank of the canyon, there seems to be something like a scroll. Legend has it that it is Zhuge Liang's "Book of War". A stone with a thick top and a pointed bottom protrudes from the bottom of the Bingshu Stone, pointing straight into the river, resembling a sword in relief. This is the "Bingshu Sword Stone", hence the name "Bingshu Sword Gorge".
After field research by archaeologists, the so-called "Book of War" is a relic from an ancient hanging coffin burial halfway up the mountain. The so-called "Sword" is a protruding rock block on the cliff. It is formed by the collapse and fall of limestone along vertical joints.
There are two legends in this section of the canyon: One is that Zhuge Liang wrote a book about his life's military experience. Once he was seriously ill, and no one around him was worthy of the award, and he was afraid of what he would do next. He devoured people alive, fought according to the instructions, and stuck to his roots. He chose a dangerous place and put this book on a cliff that is difficult to climb, so that talented people in future generations can pick it up. Another theory is that at the end of the Qin Dynasty, during the Chu-Han war, Liu Bang had a counselor named Zhang Liang. He was familiar with military books and was resourceful. He annihilated Xiang Yu's elite troops. Xiang Yu fled to Wujiang alone and committed suicide. Chu then fell to Han. After Zhang Liang died, he hid the book of war and the sword here.
◎ The hometown of famous people in Xiangxi
Soon after the boat trip, we arrived at the wide valley of Xiangxi. On the shore of this green and leisurely Xiangxi River, two famous figures appeared in history: one is the great patriotic poet Qu Yuan, and the other is Wang Zhaojun of the Han Dynasty. Legend has it that one day, Zhaojun was washing his face at the mouth of the stream and accidentally scattered the pearls on his necklace into the stream. From then on, the stream was clear and fragrant, hence the name Xiangxi. Xiangxi River is like a fragrant ribbon, which builds a bridge leading to the magical Shennongjia primeval forest. After the Three Gorges Project impounds water, cruise ships can go directly from the Yangtze River to Zhaojun Village, and can also reach Qu Yuan's hometown, Lepingli, on the way.
Located in Leping, Qu Yuan’s hometown on the bank of the Xiangxi River, there are many places of interest and legends about Qu Yuan, such as Xiangluping, Zhaomian Well, Reading Cave, and Three Corn Hills.
The ancients once collected them into "Eight Scenes" and wrote a poem with the names of the sceneries: "The dragon subdues the tiger and roars from the sky, and the rural drum rock is connected to the drum platform." Looking at the cold in the well will kill you, and reading will reveal the talent of Li Sao. Corn grows in the hills in line with sentiments, and pearls drop in the valley. The water locks back to the bank of Longhanze, and the three passes and eight scenery are better than Penglai. Qu Yuan was an upright, selfless, far-sighted politician and a great patriotic poet. He cared about the country and the people and left such glorious poems as "Li Sao", which were admired by people all over the world.
Baoping Village in Xingshan County in the upper reaches of Xiangxi River is the hometown of Wang Zhaojun, the concubine of the Han Ming Dynasty. In recent years, her former residence has been restored here. Outside the house stands a white marble statue of Zhaojun sent from Inner Mongolia to stay. ?Zhaojun has been around for a long time, and Hu Hanhe has seen it personally.
◎Qu Yuan Temple
When we arrive at Xiangxikou, we have finished walking the canyon section of Xiling Gorge. From here to Badong Guandukou, the approximately 45-kilometer long river section is a wide valley called Xiangxi Wide Valley. The boat passed Xiangxi Town and went upstream for about 6 kilometers to the old county town of Zigui? Guizhou. This small town surrounded by mountains and rivers has a long history. In 221 AD, Liu Bei supervised the expedition against Wu and began to build a city here. As a grain and grass transshipment base. Because the city was in the shape of a gourd at that time, it was named "Gourd City". What really makes Zigui famous all over the world is that Qu Yuan, the earliest great poet in China, was born here. When you land in Guizhou City and stroll on the streets, you can see a tall archway with Guo Moruo's handwriting engraved on the forehead: "Qu Yuan's hometown". The antique building built along the river is Qu Yuan Temple.
There is a beach between Zigui and Xiangxi. It is said that it is the burial place of Qu Yuan's body. It was later named "Qu Yuan Tuo". There is Qu Yuan Temple on the Tuo. Since the Tang and Song Dynasties, it has been relocated and repaired several times. Later, due to the construction of the Gezhouba Water Conservancy Project and the water level rising, the temple was built here in 1976. Due to the construction of the Three Gorges Project, Qu Yuan Temple will be moved again to Fenghuang Mountain in Zigui New County. The rebuilt Qu Yuan Temple will be officially opened to the public at the end of 2003. The current Qu Yuan Temple is divided into four parts, namely the mountain gate, the bronze statue of Qu Yuan and the East-West Stele Gallery, Qu Yuan Memorial Hall and Qu Yuan's Tomb, covering an area of ??14,000 square meters. Walking to the gate of Qu Yuan Temple, the first thing that catches everyone's eyes is the three vigorous and powerful characters "Qu Yuan Temple" written by the famous scholar Guo Moruo. The main body of the mountain gate and the east and west side rooms form the Chinese character "山" shape. Stepping into Qu Yuan Temple, the 3.92-meter-tall bronze statue of Qu Yuan makes people feel a sense of reverence. Doctor Qu is still chanting to himself: "The road is long and long, I will search up and down", and the huge "?" on the lawn in front? The two characters "Quest" complement each other. On both sides of the bronze statue are monument galleries distributed east and west. On the right side are engraved more than 20 works of Qu Yuan with pictures and texts, and on the left side are records of the words of literati from all over the world expressing their appreciation for Qu Yuan. The Qu Yuan Memorial Hall mainly displays a brief introduction to Qu Yuan's life and some cultural relics. The last part of Qu Yuan Temple is Qu Yuan's tomb. Since the people of Quxiang loved Qu Yuan as an emperor, Qu Yuan's tomb has always been the largest coffin in the world - a mahogany hanging coffin.
○ Wu Gorge
The boat sails through a wide valley with gentle mountains and gentle water, and then enters Wu Gorge. Wu Gorge is named after Wushan Mountain. It starts from Guandukou in Badong County in the east and ends at the mouth of Daning River in the east of Wushan City in the west, with a total length of 45 kilometers. The green mountains on both sides of the gorge are continuous, the peaks are like screens, the river is winding, deep and beautiful, like a natural gallery. Wu Gorge is deep and narrow, with short sunshine hours. The moisture in the gorge is not dispersed, and it is easy to form clouds and fog. The clouds and mist are in various shapes, some are like flying horses and dragons, some are squirming on the ground, and some are hanging like waterfalls. The cliffs sometimes gather into billowing clouds. Under the sunlight, they form the Buddha's light in Wu Gorge. Therefore, the ancients left behind the eternal song of "There was a time when all the seas were filled with water, but Wushan was not clouds."
◎Badong Shennong Creek
When the boat passes through Badong County, there is a branch in the north of the river, which is Shennong Creek. In recent years, Shennong River rafting has attracted more and more Chinese and foreign tourists. Shennong Creek originates from the vast green mountains of Shennongjia. The stream is clear and clear, and the peaks on both sides are steep. In the section of the stream that has been developed for tourists to raft, there are also three gorges, namely Mianzhu Gorge, Parrot Gorge, and Longchang Gorge, so they are also called the "Shennong Three Gorges" to distinguish them from the Great Three Gorges on the Yangtze River and the Daning River. Little Three Gorges.
Tourists can drive north from Badong County. After a journey of about 50 kilometers, they arrive at Yeziba, the starting point for rafting in Shennong Creek. Sitting on a flat boat shaped like a pea horn, drifting leisurely on the clear water and passing through Mianzhu Gorge, Parrot Gorge and Longchang Gorge, you will feel a primitive wildness. There is not even a small motor boat on Shennong River. The air is extremely fresh and the gorge is extremely quiet. There are only a few birdsong occasionally and a few long trackers' calls, which makes people feel far away from the world. . This is difficult to find outside Shennong River. After leaving Shennong River, we returned to the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River.
◎ The Twelve Peaks of Wushan
When passing the Wu Gorge, passengers can’t help but lean on the railings and admire the famous Twelve Peaks of Wushan with great interest. These twelve peaks are all made of limestone. They are about a thousand meters above the river. They stand in the north and south of the Xiajiang River. Some are like men in the sky, some are like phoenixes spreading their wings, some are shaped like painted screens, and some are like gathering immortals? There are so many different shapes. ,fascinating.
There are six peaks in the north of the Yangtze River. The first thing that catches the eye is Jixian Peak (also known as Scissor Peak) on the north bank. On the rock wall below, six big characters can be vaguely seen: "Wuxia Gorge with overlapping mountains". There are some small characters next to it. The small characters are now blurred and difficult to read due to the weathering of the rocks. It is said that they are "Longzhong Dui" written by Zhuge Liang, so it is called "Kongming Monument". With the construction of the Three Gorges Project, the Kongming Monument, which is under the submergence line, will be moved to another place. The other five peaks are Songluan (Hatbox Peak), Shennu (Wangxia Peak), Chaoyun, Shengquan and Denglong.
Among the six peaks on the south bank, only Feifeng, Cuiping and Juhe can be seen from the boat. The three peaks of Jingtan, Qiyun and Shengshang must be traveled up fifteen kilometers from Qingshi Creek, a tributary of the Yangtze River. See you. Therefore, Lu You, a poet of the Song Dynasty, had a poem that said, "Twelve Wu Mountains show nine peaks."
The most tall and beautiful among the twelve peaks is the Goddess Peak. When the boat arrives at the peak, looking up at the top, you can see an abrupt stone pillar that looks like a strong girl, hence the name "Goddess Peak". Regarding the Goddess Peak, ancient literary works once imagined that there was a goddess in Wushan who was "clouds in the morning and rain in the evening". In addition, there is also a myth about the "Goddess Navigator". The myth says: In ancient times, Yao Ji, the youngest daughter of the Queen Mother of the West, came to the sky above Wushan Mountain and saw a group of evil dragons fighting in the sky and harassing the people. She stopped and killed the evil dragon to eliminate harm for the people. Later, he sent people to help Dayu dig out the Three Gorges and dredge the river. He also stayed to guide the boats, and finally it became the Goddess Peak. She looked down at the river day and night, the first to welcome the morning glow, and the last to see the sunset go away. The myth of the "Goddess Navigator" reflects how many boatmen and passengers shed tears in the river under the Goddess Peak and died in the belly of the fish!
◎ Small Three Gorges of Daning River
The boat passed by The twelve peaks of Wushan Mountain meet a branch in the north of the river, which is the Daning River. The Daning River originates from Zhongnan Mountain in Pingli County, Shaanxi Province, passes through the mountains and ridges of Wuxi and Wushan counties in Chongqing, and flows into the Yangtze River on the east side of Wushan County. There are also three gorges on the Daning River: Longmen Gorge, Bawu Gorge, and Dicui Gorge. Known as "Little Three Gorges". It is more beautiful than the Three Gorges, so it is said that the scenery of the Three Gorges is the best in the world, and that of Ninghe is the best in the Three Gorges. When the Three Gorges Project is closed and the water level rises, the Daning River Small Three Gorges will be affected, and the accessibility of its tributary Madu River Small Three Gorges will be greatly improved.
The Little Three Gorges of Madu River is more than 20 kilometers long. Among them, Madu Gorge has many strange peaks and rocks; Qinwang Gorge is famous for its cave spring; Rhinoceros Gorge is named because there is a stone in the gorge that looks like a rhinoceros.
○ Qutang Gorge
After passing Wu Gorge, the boat travels about 25 kilometers through the wide valley (the wide valley of Daning River) and arrives at Qutang Gorge, which is famous for its majesty. Qutang Gorge starts from Daxi Town in the east and ends at Baidi City in the west. Although the gorge is only 8 kilometers long and is the shortest of the Three Gorges, it has the majestic momentum of "controlling Bashu in the west and encompassing thousands of valleys, and connecting Jingchu and overwhelming mountains in the east." It is a magical natural picture and cultural and artistic corridor. Along the river, you can see the Fengxiang Gorge, Phoenix Drinking Spring, Mengliang Ladder, Hanging Monk, Fenbi Wall, Kuimen and other wonderful sights.
◎ Fengxiang Gorge
Entering Qutang Gorge, you can see three big white characters on the cliff in the north of the Yangtze River: Fengxiang Gorge. This is Fengxiang Gorge.
Fengchang Gorge is a steep cliff. There are several gaps on the cliff. Looking from a distance, there is a large gap with a stack of rectangular wooden boxes placed in it. It looks like a bellows, so it is called Bellows Gorge. Legend has it that the bellows here were stored by Lu Ban. In 1971, three herb collectors climbed to the Bellows Gorge and solved the mystery of the Bellows. It turned out to be a rock burial left by Cubans more than 2,000 years ago.
◎Phoenix Drinking Spring? Mengliang Ladder? Hanging Monk
Not long after the boat sailed, on the cliff in the south of the Yangtze River, you can see a two-story pavilion built on the rock. At the pavilion is the Phoenix Drinking Spring. There is a huge and protruding stalactite pillar, about 20 meters long and 6 meters in diameter. It hangs from the rock to the spring water, like a phoenix by the water, raising its phoenix crown and stretching its neck to drink from the spring water!
Upstream of Phoenix Spring is the famous "Mengliang Ladder", a row of artificially hewn square stone holes larger than the mouth of a bowl, one after another, extending from bottom to top in a zigzag shape to the top. , the local people call it "Meng Liang Ladder".
On the steep cliff next to the Mengliang Ladder, there is a strange stone protruding out, which looks like a bald and barefoot monk hanging upside down. It is called the "Hanging Monk Stone". According to legend, after Yang Ye, a famous general in the Northern Song Dynasty, was killed, his bones were buried on the Wangxiang Terrace, a platform on the mountainside of Baiyan Mountain. Meng Liang, his general, stole the corpse and secretly entered Qutang in a boat. He drilled holes in the rocks on the cliff, inserted iron rods, built wooden ladders, and climbed up. As soon as he reached the middle of the mountain, he was discovered by a monk. The monk pretended to be a cock crow and deceived Meng Liang. Meng Liang mistakenly thought that dawn was about to break, and he was afraid that people would find out, so he had to turn back halfway, but his success failed. Meng Liang was so angry that he hung the monk upside down on the rock. In fact, these stone holes are the remains of plank roads built by ancient working people, and the "Hanging Monk Stone" is just a common stalactite in limestone areas.
◎ Kuimen Pass? Fenbi Hall
The river is less than a hundred meters wide at the mouth of the gorge. The cliffs on both sides are like knives, the sky is a line, the water is fast and the waves are high, and the mountains are It is steep, and there are five characters on the rocks: "Kuimen is the most powerful in the world", which means that the west gate of the Three Gorges is "Kuimen is closed". The highlands on both sides of Kuimen are called "Baiyan Mountain" in the south and "Chijia Mountain" in the north. The Jiajiang River faces each other, rising from the ground, towering into the clouds, majestic and majestic, while the walls on both sides of the Xiajiang River stand like gates made by heaven and earth. The cliff here is 500 meters high and the river is only 100 meters wide, but the flow rate is more than 50,000 cubic meters per second. Chijia Mountain is named Chijia Mountain because the aqueous solution containing iron oxide adheres to the surface of the weathered rock formations. The soil and rocks in this mountain are red, like a person's bare back. The White Salt Mountains are named after the aqueous solution adhering to the rocks, which mainly contains calcium and looks like white salt. Under the bright sunshine, Chijia Mountain looks slightly red and Baiyan Mountain looks gray-white. Facing each other across the river, one is dressed in red and the other is wrapped in plain. It is a wonderful sight. Du Fu described the water potential of Kuimen with the word "Many waters will flow down thousands of rivers, and Qutang will compete for one gate." ?The swan song outlines the majestic appearance of Kuimen.
The cliffs on both sides of the river are covered with inscriptions from past dynasties, all in seal, official script, regular script and running script. They are as strict as a hall wall covered with calligraphy and ink treasures, so it is named "Powder Wall Hall". After the Three Gorges Project impounds water, the inscriptions on Fenbitang will be submerged. The state has taken protective measures such as on-site protection and cutting and restoration. Some of the inscriptions will be reproduced in higher places.
◎ Baidi City
After passing Kuimen Pass, we arrived at the end of the Three Gorges - Baidi City. Baidi City, located on the north bank of the Yangtze River, has been known as the "City of Poetry" since ancient times. Baidi City was originally called Ziyang City. It was built during the Xinmang Dynasty when Gongsun Shu separatized Sichuan. Because it is said that there was a well in the city, and the white mist in the well rose into the sky, its shape was like a white dragon, soaring into the sky, so Gongsun Shu called himself White Emperor, and the city was renamed Baidi City. After Gongsun Shu was eliminated by Liu Xiu, Emperor Guangwu of the Eastern Han Dynasty, his descendants built a Baidi Temple here. Baidi City has always been famous at home and abroad because of the widespread spread of the story of the Three Kingdoms: "Liu Bei Tuogu". After the Three Gorges Project impounds water, the water will flood halfway up the mountainside, creating a mist-shrouded, fairyland-like scenery.
Ladies and gentlemen, the magnificent trip to the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River is coming to an end. Let us take a boat back to Yichang and continue our trip to the Three Gorges of Yichang. Thank you for your strong support and cooperation. I wish you all a safe trip to Yichang and all the best!
