When most parents are choosing a name for their baby, they would like to know how many people in the country have the same name, and hope that the baby's name will not be repeated with too many people. Or some friends simply want to find out how many people in the country have the same name as them, so how do they perform a duplicate name query?
The public security department officially provides an online query system for the number of people with the same name or the same name in China (see the end of the article for the query URL).
Query method:
Visit the Ministry of Public Security’s national same-name and surname query system guide page and click “Query the number of people with the same name”.
In the pop-up window, select "Nationwide" and press "Confirm".
At this time, the user will be asked to log in, and only after logging in can the query be made. Assuming you have previously registered an account, enter your ID number or mobile phone number, password, and verification code to log in. If you have not registered before, click the "User Registration" button.
After clicking "User Registration", jump to the "Personal Registration" page and fill in personal information as required, such as ID number, user name, mobile phone number, login password, etc. ( You can leave it blank if there is no *).
When completed, click "Register".
Next, real-name authentication is required. Registration will be successful only after real-name authentication.
Registered an account, log in using the account you just registered. When logged in, click "Query the number of people with the same name" mentioned at the beginning of the article to enter the national same-name query system.
Enter the name you want to query, check the gender, fill in the verification code, and click OK to check the results.
Below are the results of my random query for a name.
China has 1.4 billion people, but the number of commonly used Chinese characters is limited, so it is inevitable that the names will be the same. A name is just a code for people to call you. If you deliberately choose some uncommon words in order to have a different name, you will be picking up sesame seeds and losing watermelon, and even cause trouble. Try to think about the situation when someone wants to call you by your name but doesn’t know how to say it, or wants to write your name but doesn’t know how to write it. Therefore, when choosing a name, you don’t need to pursue absolute different names. As long as the names are relatively different, for example, if you don’t encounter them that often and don’t have the same names among familiar people, that’s fine.
