How did Yuan introduce you?

Yuan's family mainly comes from his descendants. According to legend, Shun, one of the five ancient emperors, is a descendant of Zhuan Xu. Born in Yao ruins (now northeast of Heze, Shandong Province), he got his surname. He once lived in Guimi River (now Jinyong, Shandong Province), so his descendants have Guimi surname.

Migration and communication

During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the descendants of Yuan surname flourished in the south of the Yangtze River, but Yuan surname still flourished in the Central Plains. Moreover, some data show that Yuan was still the most popular surname in the Central Plains during the Tang and Song Dynasties. During this period, some Yuan migrated to Hangzhou, Ningbo, Fenghua, Yinxian, Chengdu, Sichuan, Nanchang, Jiangxi and Fuan, Fujian.
