What does Yuping mean?

The word "Yuping" generally refers to the cuckoo, the mother of the universe of birds. When cuckoo's eggs or cuckoo's chicks are left unattended, cuckoo will not hesitate to accept and take care of them, whether they are their own eggs, their chicks or eggs of other species. Therefore, Yuping has become a kind name of cuckoo, and it is also a compliment to their eternal maternal love.

In ancient Chinese, "ping" refers to floating objects on the water surface, while "rain" is a natural phenomenon in nature. So some people define "jade screen" as natural objects such as leaves, flowers or branches floating on the water in rainy days. When these objects are wet and washed irregularly in rainy days, they will also give off a different kind of fresh breath, giving people a double feeling of sight and smell.

In some novels, songs and poems, people also use "jade screen" to describe women. Because Yuping represents a strong maternal love and care, the word Yuping often appears in the description of female images in these works. For example, they are gentle and kind-hearted, especially when facing the family, and they will be as loving, tolerant and supportive as Yuping.
