Historical evolution of Runan County
In ancient times, Runan belonged to Yuzhou.
During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Runan belonged to the State of Cai.
In the fifth year of Jianxing of the Western Jin Dynasty (317), the Shangcai County seat was moved here, and it was called "Xuanhu City".
In the 18th year of Jian'an (213), Cao Cao analyzed the Chengfu of Runan County and several counties of Pei County and established Qiao County. It also analyzed Runan County and Jiangxia County and established Yiyang County.
In the 14th year of Yixi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (418), Runan County was moved here.
During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Liu Song Qiao established Sizhou, and in the later Zhou Dynasty established the General Manager's Office. In the Sui Dynasty, it was still the administrative center of Runan County, and Ruyang County was placed in the county seat, and Hucheng was changed to Qinzhou.
