Every year brings hatred
Wangcheng County, Hunan Province, the birthplace of Lei Feng.
Across the Xiangjiang River from Changsha City, 15 kilometers west along the Changning Highway, among the rolling hills, there is a small mountain village called Jianjiatang, which is Lei Feng’s hometown. Lei Feng was born in a poor farmer's family here on December 18, 1940 (the 20th day of the 11th month of the lunar calendar), and was named Lei Zhenxing at that time. Because that year was the "Gengchen" year of the lunar calendar, his family called him "Gengyazi".
A 3-year-old child today would be the age to have fun in the kindergarten. But when Lei Feng was 3 years old, his grandfather was forced to death by the landlord; when he was 5 years old, his father was severely beaten by the Japanese invaders. , died of illness in bed; when he was 6 years old, his elder brother had his arm broken in a capitalist factory and was driven home by the capitalists. Later, he contracted "consumption" and died without money for treatment; soon after, his younger brother Xiao Jinman died of illness in his mother's arms; When he was 7 years old, his mother couldn't bear the bullying from the landlord and committed suicide by hanging herself from a rafter. He became an orphan. At a young age, he went to the mountains to cut firewood for a living, but was stabbed three times by the landlord's mother-in-law.
Lei Feng, who has come through blood and tears, became a member of the children's league in the fight against the hegemonic bandits at the age of 9. At only 15 years old, he became a civil servant in the new regime.
Today some people can extend their military service and service length at will by obtaining a certificate. So, if Lei Feng were alive in the world today, he would truly be an old revolutionary.
Let us follow the path Lei Feng once walked and trace his footsteps.
After liberation, with the help of Uncle Peng Demao, the head of Anqing Township, Lei Feng entered primary school. Soon the school was closed. One day, when Lei Feng was grazing cattle in a mountain village more than ten miles away, he discovered a school. Lei Feng was overjoyed and asked his teacher to study. At first the teacher disagreed, but at Lei Feng's sincere request, he passed the exam and was transferred to school. Because people's lives were extremely difficult just after liberation, Lei Feng sometimes read and wrote under the moonlight. Later, because he could not afford the tuition, Uncle Peng recommended him to work as a correspondent in the countryside. Undoubtedly, it was because of Lei Feng's excellent moral character and academic performance. Many years later, when someone interviewed Lei Feng's teachers and classmates, they could still clearly recite the Allegro book compiled at that time:
"Little Lei Zhenxing ( Lei Feng's childhood name), he studied the hardest, he went the furthest to school, and he was the best at homework... In the autumn of 1956, Mayor Peng went to Wangcheng County Party Committee for a meeting. County Party Committee Secretary Zhang Xingyu wanted to find a civil servant and asked him if he was a good young man. After Township Chief Peng introduced Lei Feng's life experience and his performance in the township, Secretary Zhang decided to transfer him to the county. Township Chief Peng was really reluctant to let Lei Feng go, but Lei Feng could make progress faster by going to a higher-level agency. , Mayor Peng was happy for him again. Mayor Peng bought Lei Feng a mosquito net, a hot water bottle and a new set of clothes, and personally sent him to the county party committee office.
The origin of the screw spirit
< p>On the mountain trail in Wangcheng, a small screw caught the eyes of Secretary Zhang and Lei Feng at the same time. Little Lei Feng jumped up and kicked the screw away, but Secretary Zhang took a few steps forward and bent down. He picked it up, wiped the dust off the screws, and solemnly handed it to Lei Feng: "Keep it, it will be useful. "Just like this, with one word, the words and deeds of an old Communist Party member actually affected a young man's life. In the diary written by Lei Feng later, Lei Feng thought about the screws repeatedly, and finally A unique "screw spirit" was formed.
On January 12, 1960, Lei Feng wrote: "Although it is a tiny screw, it is a tiny gear, but if it is missing, the entire machine will fail. The machine will not be able to operate. It is said that it is missing. Even if a small screw is not tightened or a small gear is slightly damaged, it will cause the machine to malfunction. However, no matter how good the screws are, no matter how precise they are. If the gear is separated from the machine as a whole, it will inevitably be treated as scrap and thrown into the scrap metal warehouse. "On April 7, 1962, Lei Feng wrote again: "A person's role in the revolutionary cause is like a screw in a machine. Because the machine is connected and fixed by many screws, it becomes a solid whole and can operate freely and exert its huge working ability. Although the screw is small, its role is immeasurable. I would like to be a screw forever. Screws need to be maintained and cleaned regularly to prevent them from rusting. The same is true for people's minds. They need to be checked regularly to prevent anything from going wrong.
”
Appearance in the military camp
In December 1959, 19-year-old Lei Feng walked into the military camp. The cadre who took over the army was not very qualified physically, but he had An unusual resume shows that he was an excellent tractor driver on the agricultural front, and was rated as an advanced producer on the industrial front 3 times, a pacesetter 18 times, and a red-banner bearer 5 times. He was rated as a thrift expert three times and was praised in newspapers... The recruiting cadre thought that if he hadn't insisted on joining the army, how could Anshan Steel be willing to send him away?
Lei Feng was the first recruit in the army. One day, on behalf of more than a thousand new soldiers, he stepped onto the podium at the regiment's meeting to welcome new comrades without hesitation, amid warm applause. The eyes of the audience were focused on him and he stood with his head held high. In front of the microphone, although he was not tall, he looked very energetic and energetic. He shook off the snowflakes that fell on his body, took out his speech from his trouser pocket, and read loudly in a thick Hunan accent: "Dear Chief and Mr. All old comrades, let me represent the new warriors..." As soon as he finished speaking a few sentences, the strong wind folded up his speech. He tried his best to unfold the speech, but the wind seemed to deliberately find trouble with him. As soon as he flattened it, he opened his mouth again. Chen Guangsheng, the director of the regiment club who was present at the time, wanted to help him. Unexpectedly, Lei Feng simply put the speech notes into his trouser pocket and made an impromptu speech into the microphone: "We new soldiers, in 60 Putting on the military uniform and shouldering the gun in the days when the 2000s are about to begin, I feel really indescribable joy. There are workers, commune members, and students among us, coming from all over the world, but we only have one mind: learn skills well, defend the motherland, and be decent soldiers. The leader of the regiment just made a speech, hoping that we would strive to be the five good soldiers. According to me, with the leaders here and the help of the old comrades, let alone the five good soldiers, there are ten or eight good soldiers who are guaranteed to be successful. "
The whole audience was amused. Lei Feng looked a little flustered, grabbed the microphone and said again: "What are you laughing at? I am telling the truth. "He turned around and saluted the chief, and the audience burst into applause again.
This is the Lei Feng that Chen Guangsheng, the author of "The Story of Lei Feng", first saw. Now, Chen Guangsheng is over sixty years old, but , a vivid Lei Feng still always appeared in his mind, the more time passed, the more he missed Lei Feng who had the same emotions and six desires as ordinary people, and showed many colors in the sun.
Chen Guangsheng did not blame the young friend who wrote to him and asked, "Is there really such a person as Lei Feng?" He told the story of Lei Feng he saw with great affection.
Ask "Blessings"
After the recruit meeting, Lei Feng gradually became familiar with the club director Chen Guangsheng. He discovered that Chen Guangsheng had so many books, and he became a regular visitor to the club. Once, Lei Feng saw "Lu Xun" on Chen Guangsheng's bedside. After a while, when Lei Feng returned the book, Chen Guangsheng asked him, which ones have you read? Lei Feng said that Chen Guangsheng had read many of the "Scream" and "Wandering". Chen Guangsheng admired his reading ability, and the memory that will never be forgotten is that when they talked about Sister Xianglin in "Blessings", Lei Feng suddenly felt sad. He said: "I lost my mind again when I watched "Blessings" this time. Tears. Sister Xianglin's tragic life was very similar to my mother's. When Lei Feng said this, tears flowed out. He wiped the corners of his eyes and said, "My mother suffered all her life and died miserably in the old society." I was only six or seven years old at that time. "As he said that, Lei Feng suddenly changed the topic. He said: "I have a low level of education and I can't understand it. The author doesn't bless Mrs. Xianglin, nor does he bless Mr. Lu Si. How can it be called a blessing? "Although Lei Feng didn't quite understand the intention of the great writer, he liked Lu Xun's works so much. "Blessing" obviously caused ripples in Lei Feng's mind. Chen Guangsheng felt that he should not underestimate this young man who loved to use his brain. Soldier.
Lei Feng’s training
In all the books about Lei Feng, it is probably difficult to see positive descriptions of Lei Feng’s training. However, in real life, there are many things that accompany Lei Feng. It's not all praise and honors.
Every time Lei Feng went to borrow books from Chen Guangsheng, he was always happy. One day, he walked into the house with a sullen face. It turned out that Lei Feng met the deputy on the road. The captain and the deputy captain did not know that this was Lei Feng. Lei Feng greeted the deputy captain cheerfully, but the deputy captain caught a glimpse of his "bangs" hanging out of the brim of his hat and scolded him severely. Dayton.
At that time, Chen Guangsheng complained in his heart that the deputy commander's attitude towards the new soldiers was a little too harsh, but he still verbally comforted Lei Feng, saying that the deputy commander was strict in handling the troops and told Lei Feng not to take it to heart. After a while, Lei Feng calmed down and started talking and laughing as before. Before leaving, he told Chen Guangsheng that he would get his hair cut when he got back. Later, Chen Guangsheng saw that Lei Feng's hair was shorter. But once, Chen Guangsheng said with a smile: "I was attracted by the sound of your harmonica, not to check the military appearance." Lei Feng put down his hat and smiled. Only then did Chen Guangsheng notice that although his hair was neat, the short hair on his forehead still had bangs, but it was just a little shorter than before. Chen Guangsheng stroked the short hair on Lei Feng's forehead and joked, "How dare you keep it, if you are not afraid that the regiment leader will see it again?" He chuckled: "I will wear my hat lower when I go out on the street again." Chen Guangsheng secretly laughed in his heart. , What a stubborn clever guy.
When Chen Guangsheng recounted this story, he just wanted to say: Lei Feng is a person with personality, not a transparent god. When we promote advanced models, we should not be like putting makeup on an actor, covering up everything that belongs to him, including his shortcomings. In that case, the typical can only appear on the stage.
A "Liberation" Photo
Lei Feng, who only spent one year and eight months in the military camp, was filled with the pride of being the master of his family. Ji Zeng, who had taken many photos for Lei Feng, was working as a photojournalist in the league's publicity unit. He is now the chairman of the Chengde branch of the Chinese Photographers Association, Hebei Province. He recalled such a story:
I remember one noon in the spring of 1961, I was interviewing the company with my camera, and I happened to catch up with Lei Feng lying on the ground maintaining his vehicle. At this time, I walked over and said to him: "Lei Feng, how about I take a picture of you here?" After hearing this, Lei Feng shook his head repeatedly: "No, you go and take pictures of others. I already have enough pictures." "Besides, taking too many photos is a waste." I said, "You have a lot of photos, but are any of them taken on the car? Don't forget, you are the driver!" After hearing my words, Lei Feng was tempted. With a smile on his face, he said, "Just take a photo!" He got out from under the car.
He took the photo in front of the car, and I adjusted the focus. Just when I was about to press the shutter, he suddenly said to me: "I won't take the photo here, go over there." Go." It turned out that Lei Feng wanted to take a photo in a "Jiefang" brand car, and the car he was driving was a old Soviet-style car "Gas 51". In this way, I followed him to a "Jiefang" brand car. He pointed to the words "Jiefang" on the car and said to me: "Can you take a photo of these two words?" I asked in confusion: "Why do you take a photo of this?" He thought for a moment and said in a deep tone: "Without liberation, where would I be, Lei Feng?" After hearing what he said, I understood what he meant. In this way, I took this familiar photo of him. "More than 20 years later, Ji Zeng still keeps this precious original photo. When Sun Yungui, the information officer of a certain garrison unit, went to visit him, Ji Zeng took out the original photo from the album he saved and showed it to him. p>
Taking the photo album, Sun Yungui flipped through it curiously. This was not an ordinary photo album, but a beautifully made album of Lei Feng's life scenes. : There are scenes of him working hard and simple, mending clothes, scenes of him supporting the elderly and young at the station and helping others, and scenes of him telling stories to children when he was an outside school counselor... In those faded photos Below, there is a well-preserved negative, which shows how careful the owner is. Ji Zeng said that most of these photos were developed for the first time after he took them.
I compare them to the party. Mother
"Sing a folk song to the party,
I compare the party to my mother;
My mother only gave birth to my body,
< p>The glory of the party shines in my heart. The whip of the old society beats me,
My mother can only shed tears;
The Communist Party calls on me to make a revolution,
< p>Take the whip and beat the enemy. "In Lei Feng's diary, Zeng Gonggong copied this lyrics neatly, so that many people later regarded it as Lei Feng's poetry. But one thing is certain, "I took it as Lei Feng's poem. "The Party Comes to Compare Mother" indeed sang out Lei Feng's sincere feelings.
Nowadays, there are some young people who have never experienced Lei Feng's experience, so it is difficult to understand Lei Feng's emotion, but only regard it as an artistic exaggeration. Let us take a look at Lei Feng’s instructor Gao Shixiang’s memories of Lei Feng’s joining the party.
Gao Shixiang is 64 years old. He is the captain officer who talks to Lei Feng in a familiar photo. He was the instructor of Lei Feng's company at the time and was also Lei Feng's party introducer.
In April 1964, Gao Shixiang was transferred to the transportation instructor for another term. At this time, Lei Feng also ended his recruit training life and was assigned to the company to learn driving.
Gao Shixiang recalled: During the more than two years of getting along day and night, what impressed me most was Lei Feng’s feelings for the Party. He would do whatever the Party told him to do and he would follow the Party with one heart. I had a heart-to-heart talk with the company commander, reported on my ideological situation, and applied to join the party organization many times. I saw that he was in such an urgent mood, so I paid attention to cultivating him. I gave Lei Feng a copy of the Party Constitution that I kept and told him about the Party. From then on, Lei Feng became more conscious and strict with himself according to the standards of a party member. He took the initiative to find a job and helped others to do good deeds whenever he was free. There was a conflict between two soldiers from the same village in the company. Lei Feng was like a cadre. Using the principles in Chairman Mao's works to do ideological work for them, the two comrades quickly reconciled. As an instructor, I was very happy when I saw it. At a branch committee meeting, Lei Feng, who had been in the army for less than 7 months, was nominated by the branch committee as a development target. However, when discussing Lei Feng's joining the party later, some branch members heard some reactions about Lei Feng, saying that he was doing it to save face and praise. Some people thought that Lei Feng's military service was short, and whether he could persist in doing good deeds was often tested. test. This put aside the matter of Lei Feng joining the party.
On November 7, 1960, at the Shenyang Military Region Engineering Department’s review of the “Four Good Companies” and the “Five Good” Soldiers and Political Unions, Deputy Political Commissar Liu Jiale came to me and said that the reporter from the PLA newspaper listened to Lei Feng’s After the report, I was very moved and decided to write a report on "Bitter Child, Good Soldier". But as soon as I learned that Lei Feng was not a party member, I asked, why did such a soldier not join the party? Please study it first and come up with it. Report your opinions to the Youth League Party Committee. After the meeting, I reported the decision of the last branch committee to the instructor and returned to Fushun in the afternoon. That night, I found Li Chaoqun, deputy secretary of the branch and company commander, and solicited opinions from other branch members, and all of them were approved. I solemnly wrote in the column of introducer for joining the party: "Comrade Lei Feng keeps in mind the purpose of our army, serves the people wholeheartedly, has a clear distinction between likes and dislikes, and has a firm political stance. I voluntarily introduce Lei Feng to the party ”
At noon the next day, I returned to the conference guest house and reported to Han Wanjin, the political commissar of the regiment, that the branch meeting passed the resolution of Lei Feng’s joining the party. During the break of the meeting, members of the battalion party committee specially discussed Lei Feng’s joining the party. The party committee was held at the meeting and passed the resolution of the Party branch of the Transportation Company approving Lei Feng's application for joining the party. This day is November 8, a day that Lei Feng will never forget. After dinner, comrades from the Engineering Corps informed Lei Feng, who was delivering a "Two Recollections and Three Investigations" recollection of suffering report in a middle school in Shenyang City, to come to me. As soon as Lei Feng reached the stairs of the guest house, a group of waiters surrounded him and asked him to make a small report. Lei Feng, who had been in the army for less than a year at that time, was already well-known. He did good deeds wherever he went and was loved by people. As soon as Lei Feng entered the dormitory, I took out his application form for joining the party from the bedside. At this time, Lei Feng's eyes were fixed on it. Not moving away at all. "Lei Feng, from now on you are a member of the Communist Party of China!" I said seriously. He was like a child who had been away from his mother for a long time and threw himself into his mother's arms. He cried "Wow". At this time, several instructors present were stunned. They were moved by Lei Feng's sincere feelings for the party. They saw Lei Feng turning the page with his hands. In his application form for joining the party, he choked and said intermittently: "Mom, I found you, and I will listen to you from now on!" At this time, instructor Cui who was next to Lei Feng came over and took Lei Feng's hand and said: "You are already a Communist Party member." Party members, you must be more modest and prudent in the future and serve the people wholeheartedly!" Lei Feng nodded after hearing this. In the evening he wrote in his diary: "Great party! You are my kind mother, everything I have belongs to me. You, I will always listen to you and be your loyal son."
Looking through Lei Feng's diary, we can see that he expressed his wish in many places: to strive to realize his best wishes. Meet the great leader Chairman Mao.
Comrade Zhang Jun, who took more than 200 photos of Lei Feng and was a former officer of the Political Department of the Shenyang Military Region and now works in the Anshan Labor Camp, recalled: When Lei Feng and I were together, he told me many times: "Study hard." , do your job well, and strive to go to Beijing to meet Chairman Mao! "Why am I still unforgettable about Lei Feng's desire to meet Chairman Mao? Because the Shenyang Military Region Engineering Corps Party Committee has made a decision to appoint Comrade Lei Feng as a representative to attend the National Day ceremony in 1962. Unexpectedly, before the good news could be told to him, he died in the line of duty on August 15 of that year, failing to realize his long-cherished wish to meet Chairman Mao. On the eve of the "August 1st" Army Day in 1963, I met the great leader Chairman Mao on behalf of Comrade Lei Feng at Huairen Hall in Zhongnanhai, the capital. My eyes filled with tears and I was so excited that I snapped more than a dozen photos of Chairman Mao meeting with the Shenyang Military Region Anti-Japanese War. Rare photos of the cast and crew of "Lei Feng" by the Enemy Theater Company. It is said that Chairman Mao, who loved opera very much, never watched dramas. He even said that he would not watch dramas even if he gave me 200 yuan. However, Chairman Mao was attracted by Lei Feng in the play and was excited by Lei Feng in the play. Every time Zhang Jun talks about this matter, he chokes up with sadness.
Lei Feng, an orphan who survived the hardships of the old society, understood the truth that "without the Communist Party, there would be no new China" from his own personal experience. How could he not be filled with emotion when he rose from the simple class sentiment of thanking the Party and repaying the Party to the ideal of fighting for the cause of the Party and becoming a member of the ruling party. Without understanding the history and ideological trajectory of Lei Feng's generation, it would be difficult to understand what Lei Feng did. It would really raise questions about Lei Feng, and how naive and superficial such questions are.
Party newspaper appointment letter
A few years ago, some people published articles in newspapers and periodicals, saying that Lei Feng was a "talent" but not a "talent". We won’t say much about whether Lei Feng was a talent or not. Just providing some historical materials can explain the problem quite a bit. In November 1961, a letter of appointment was sent to Lei Feng, who was not yet famous:
Comrade Lei Feng:
We have learned that your unit has confirmed that you are a correspondent of this newspaper. We would like to express our warm welcome. I am writing to formally recruit you... I hope to strengthen contact in the future.
Sincerely yours
Salutes
China People's Liberation Army
Communications Liaison Group"
People's Liberation Army Newspaper
November 17, 1961
Some graduate students at Renmin University saw this letter of appointment at the Military Museum. Several classmates expressed some emotion. Some people say that being a correspondent for a central-level party newspaper requires some real skills. Unexpectedly, Lei Feng was still so talented. Some people say that this is an important historical material about Lei Feng, which makes Lei Feng's image fuller. Lei Feng is not only helpful, he also has a certain level of science and culture, which is attractive to contemporary youth.
A natural contribution
How did Lei Feng become a model, how did leaders discover Lei Feng, and who was the first person to promote Lei Feng?
We finally figured it out. In a hotel in Shenyang, we met Tong Xiwen and Li Jianyu, who had dyed white hair. The two military reporters of Xinhua News Agency in Liaoning Branch have now retired. When we were still wearing red scarves, we remembered Lei Feng's name, but we didn't pay attention to who was the first person to promote Lei Feng. Now, two of the authors who have written about Lei Feng's deeds are sitting in front of us.
They said modestly: "Lei Feng was not promoted by us. He was famous long before the propaganda."
"In October 1960, "Forward" The editor-in-chief of the newspaper, Ji Bingqian, called the two of us over and said that the newspaper had received a spontaneous article that reflected the hardships and simplicity of a new soldier named Lei Feng. With that, Ji Bingqian handed the article to us and we took a look. The recruits had been in the army for less than 10 months. They collected toothpaste skins, mended socks, and donated money to the people's communes. They did a lot of good things. At that time, we believed that the country was in a difficult time and the party emphasized working hard to become stronger. It was not easy for Lei Feng to do this. Very cute. Ji Bingqian asked us to go to the army to understand and meet this soldier. We went to the Political Department of the Military Region Engineering Corps and met Deputy Director Wang and asked him to find out which army Lei Feng belonged to. He is in Shenyang these days and is going to Liaoning Normal University to give a report on remembering hardships.
“We discussed it and decided to experience it on the spot.
On the day Lei Feng went to the university to give a report, the two of us sat with the students and listened. Hearing Lei Feng talk about his miserable life experience, I felt so sad that I couldn't bear it. Lei Feng not only talked about the hardships of the past, but also talked about the party's training for him and his current work. People above were talking, people below were crying, and some students were sobbing profusely. At this time, the slogan suddenly sounded, "Lei Feng's suffering is our suffering, and Lei Feng's hatred is our hatred." After the leader finished shouting, the classmate stood up again and led the class: "Learn from Lei Feng", "Learn from Lei Feng". That scene was so exciting. This report solved an emotional infection problem for both of us. We both felt that this soldier was really cute and he was not only a model of thrift. After the meeting, we talked directly with Lei Feng. He talked very matter-of-factly, and he brought three diaries and notes. We found that this young man paid great attention to learning. Ji Bingqian also listened to the report that day and said excitedly that he wanted to be a great example.
"Zhao Zhihua from the Engineering Corps Propaganda Department and photographer Zhang Jun had contacted Lei Feng many times. We listened to their introductions and then went to Lei Feng's company. The instructor of the company at that time was Gao Shixiang His evaluation of this soldier is positive. He introduced the characteristics of this soldier, one is hard work and the other is helping others. He said that he has great affection for the people and expresses it through his actions towards the old comrades, workers and farmers. A spontaneous feeling. The army gave him 4 mooncakes and sent them to the People’s Commune in Wanghua District.”
Zhang Jun was even more excited in his memory. Vividly described the donation:
"In late October 1960, the propaganda assistant in the regiment and I came to Lei Feng again with two letters from Lei Feng's regiment praising Lei Feng. The transportation company where he is located will verify. One letter is from the Heping People's Commune of Wanghua District, Fushun City, thanking Lei Feng for sending 100 yuan to support the establishment of the people's commune; the other is a letter from the Liaoyang Municipal Party Committee, warmly praising Lei Feng for sending 100 yuan to the people in the disaster area. After investigation and understanding, the facts became clear: once, the people in the company station were beating gongs and drums to celebrate the establishment of the People's Commune. Lei Feng saw this lively scene and immediately ran to the savings bank to save money in the factory and the army. I took out all the 200 yuan and ran to the Heping People's Commune Party Committee Office like a gust of wind. I put the money on the table and said, "I have been looking forward to this day for a long time. This is my Please accept your love for the commune!" The comrades in the party committee office were very moved and said: "We accept your love for the commune, but we can't accept the money. You can keep it and send it home!" Lei Feng said sincerely. Said: "The People's Commune is my home! If my parents were still alive, they would never refuse the money from their son." Lei Feng repeatedly asked, but the commune still refused to accept it until Lei Feng shed tears. Although the 100 yuan was not much, it gave all the members of the Heping People's Commune a spiritual wealth.
"Not long after the incident, the Liaoyang area suffered a devastating flood that had not happened in a century. When Lei Feng read in the newspaper that Chairman Mao of the Party Central Committee sent planes to deliver clothes and food to the people in the disaster area, he thought to himself, what can I, a soldier, do for the people in the disaster area? He hurriedly wrote a letter of condolences, despite the heavy rain, He ran to the post office and sent the 100 yuan returned by the commune to the Liaoyang Municipal Party Committee...
"Lei Feng supported the people's commune and the people in the disaster area, and was willing to give everything he had, but he himself was never willing to spend it randomly. One cent. After joining the People's Liberation Army, he received a monthly allowance. In addition to leaving a dime to pay the tour fee, two cents to buy soap, and some money to buy books, the rest was deposited in the savings bank. After repairing it so many times, it was completely changed and I couldn't bear to throw it away. The company issued two sets of uniforms, two shirts, and two pairs of shoes to each person. Lei Feng only received one set of uniforms, one shirt, and one pair of shoes. . Lei Feng’s revolutionary spirit of hard work was highly praised by comrades, but there are also some comrades who do not understand Lei Feng and say that he is so stupid for saving money and not spending it!
"Lei Feng wrote in his diary: Someone It is wrong to call me a fool. I want to be a person who is beneficial to the people and the country. If I say this is a "fool", then I am willing to be such a "fool". Revolution needs such ‘fools’, and construction also needs such ‘fools’.
"Some comrades have watched the movie "Lei Feng", and I wonder if they still remember the scene where a soldier named Wang Dali threw Lei Feng's torn socks, and how Lei Feng sent a mail to his mother in the name of Wang Dali. The scene of sending 20 yuan for medical treatment was true. Wang Dali always thought that Lei Feng was a "little picky". He changed his mind when he found out that it was Lei Feng who sent his mother 20 yuan in his name. Views on Lei Feng. ”
There has been controversy
The good deeds Lei Feng did have long been spread by the masses, but some people still don’t understand them. Not only today, but also at that time, even the cadres who were with Lei Feng all day long also doubted Lei Feng's motives for doing good deeds.
Tong Xiwen and Li Jianyu continued to tell us:
"There are also cadres in the company who hold the opposite opinion. Some cadres said that he loves to be pushy and does good deeds just for others to see. At that time We were very careful when writing, and we consciously asked comrades with two opinions to sit down and talk together and accept our interviews. Everyone talked calmly for a long time. From the beginning, the majority of people agreed with Lei Feng. Through the conversation, it turned out that they had some feelings for Lei Feng. The comrades' views gradually changed. The political commissar Han in the regiment was a cadre during the Anti-Japanese War. He said: "It is normal to have different opinions. It's good for everyone to exchange ideas together." Who is the Bole who discovered Lei Feng? It must be the political commissar of Korea. He is a "living Lei Feng". His own family is in trouble and he still donates to the disaster area.
However, when promoting Lei Feng, he did not let others write about his death a few years ago. Very few people know about his advanced deeds.
“There were reform schools and juvenile detention centers at that time, and some children wore red scarves. Everyone has realized the importance of education for the younger generation. So we feel that ‘Lei Feng is a good young man of the party’. The title of the newsletter we wrote later was like this. At that time, the country's economy was in difficulty and the international environment was not favorable to us, but we felt that as long as the party was there, the political backbone was there, and good young people like Lei Feng were there, the country would be as stable as Mount Tai. "
Lei Feng became the "fire" in Northeast China
Tong Xiwen and Li Jianyu continued to tell us: "After the manuscript is written, we will show it to Ji Bingqian. He showed it to Du Ping, then director of the Political Department of the Shenyang Military Region. Du Ping had a unique insight. After reading the manuscript, he wrote the words "Chairman Mao's good soldier-Lei Feng". On November 26, 1960, this manuscript ran two and a half pages in the Forward. The manuscript was also sent to Xinhua News Agency, "Liberation Army Daily", "Liaoning Daily", Liaoning "*** Youth League Member" magazine, "Liaoning Workers' News", and "Shenyang Daily". However, the headlines published by each newspaper have been modified. "Liberation Army Daily" published it on the second page on December 13, 1960, with the title "Strong New Seedlings"; "Liaoning Daily" called "Red Warriors";
Xinhua News Agency published the article with the title "Bitter "Children Grow into Excellent Soldiers", the most popular newspaper at that time was "Forward". The military region also put forward the slogan "Learn from Lei Feng, catch up with Lei Feng, and surpass Lei Feng". Lei Feng's name spread throughout the Northeast. Lei Feng's grievance report was told everywhere at air force airports, naval ships, factory workshops, and rural threshing fields, and his voice became hoarse. Everyone said that Lei Feng was a ball of fire. Wherever he went, there would be exciting scenes. Lei Feng's regiment was in Fushun City, and young people in Fushun City carried out activities to learn from Lei Feng. The newspaper publicized many good young people who imitated Lei Feng. Later, we wrote two more articles, one was called "Thousands of Times", which talked about Lei Feng's growth under the education of the party. Another article is called "Thousands of Lei Feng are growing up", which reflects the huge response Lei Feng has had among young people. At that time, Lei Feng's name was basically a household name in Liaoning and had a certain influence on the whole country. A letter came from China Youth Publishing House soon, asking us to write a book about Lei Feng. Because we had to go to the front line for interviews, we declined this task. One of us arrived at the front line of the East China Sea, and the other arrived at the front line of the South China Sea."
The Death of Lei Feng
Tong Xiwen and Li Jianyu continued to recall: "What a coincidence. August 15, 1962, was the day Lei Feng died in the line of duty. We walked back from Guangzhou. When we came back, we heard that Lei Feng had died in the line of duty. At that time, I was speechless. It was so emotionally overwhelming. Later, I heard that the regiment was going to hold a funeral for Lei Feng, and Fushun City paid great attention to it. Representatives of workers, youths, and women all attended the memorial service and sent out the coffin. The memorial service was held in a large auditorium in Wanghua District. At that time, the auditorium could not fit inside and there was a sea of ??people outside. The funeral road was crowded with people.
The streets were lined with white flowers. It is also a ten-mile long street. We are deeply moved by Chairman Mao's words, "Although we are dead, we are still alive." We think Lei Feng is worthy. People who heard him give a report, people who he directly helped,
