The summer entrepreneurial story of three college students
It’s hard work to open a small restaurant
Character: Spokine
< p> Summer experience: Opening a small restaurant to deliver food to the dormitoryWhen I think of that entrepreneurial experience, the picture is still fixed on the drunken excitement on the night of the opening celebration in the summer of 2005.
Opening a small restaurant was a very accidental decision. During the summer vacation, I planned to set up "Yuandian Studio" with my three buddies. After school started, I would issue membership cards to the students. The back of the cards provided discount information for barber shops, restaurants, etc. around the school. In this way, students can enjoy discounts with this card, and merchants can advertise for free. Braving the sweltering heat, we visited barber shops and restaurants one by one. Once when I was pitching our idea to the manager of a slightly upscale restaurant, the manager kept listening to me without interrupting or making a sound. I don’t know how long I talked. Anyway, after a long time, the manager said, “No need.” "Ended everything. I'm so depressed. Just when "Yuandian Studio" was exploring a little bit, I encountered an opportunity.
One day the three of us went to the small restaurant opposite the school to eat glutinous rice balls as usual. Later, I chatted with the owner of the glutinous rice dumplings and learned that they only serve breakfast, and the restaurant is empty in the afternoon and evening. And I know that after school starts, many boys play games in the dormitory and do not want to go downstairs to buy food - making rice bowls and delivering takeaways. There is definitely a market for this, and it is huge. Besides, we are students, so takeout can be delivered to the school. In the evening we quickly drafted a contract and named the restaurant "Yuandian Restaurant". Deliver it to the glutinous rice dumpling boss the next day. The owner of Nuomi Tuan was shocked: "I thought you were just talking."
The rent here is not expensive. The three of us invested nearly 40,000 yuan, I took half, and they each took 1/4. . I did the decoration myself and hired a chef. The money I invested mainly came from my savings from selling mobile cards before. Renovation is not an easy task. The kitchen is very dirty. The dust on the floor is as thick as a dictionary. We shoveled it away.
Finally the opening day came, and several tables of banquets were set up. The students who stayed on campus sent flowers, firecrackers, and red envelopes. In fact, I don't care how much money I have, as we are all students, even if it's just coins. But this is the first time I have received a red envelope like this since I was a child, and I feel very happy. I was very drunk that night and many people passed out. I was carried back. In the end, after counting the red envelopes and gifts, I actually made a lot of money in addition to the banquet money. The exciting day has passed, and the difficult days are behind.
We asked some restaurant owners for advice and learned that you must do the grocery shopping and cashiering yourself, and you don’t feel safe hiring someone else to do it. Later I learned that at five or six in the morning, there would be farmers selling home-grown vegetables at the entrance of the vegetable market near the school, and the prices were more than half cheaper than during the day. We found a tricycle and the three of us took turns getting up early to buy groceries. In those days, every day at dawn, I would struggle to get up from my sleep and get on the tricycle crookedly. Riding a tricycle for the first time was difficult, the 10-minute journey took 30 minutes.
Business has been very good since the start of school. Many students go to bed late, so we are open until 12 o'clock in the evening. My classmates always asked me to drink when they came, and for a while I was drunk almost every day. The next morning I had to endure a headache and get up early to buy groceries. Originally, we hired an aunt to wash the dishes, but she couldn't stand the intensity of the labor and went back. Later, we had to do it ourselves. After school started, we also printed flyers and sent them to every dormitory. When I have free time after class, I go to the restaurant to have a look.
In this way, it started from the summer vacation and lasted for a semester. In the end, the hotel ended up being demolished. In fact, we felt too tired.
Although it is hard work, there is a lot to gain. Not only do I no longer need to reach out to my family for food, clothing, housing and transportation for a semester, but I also know that even a seemingly simple thing can have so many difficulties in doing it. But if you want to do something well, you must persist.
Reporter’s Notes: His story is very true and candid. Spokine is now selling mobile phones online. His sister in Shanghai has a direct supply of goods and earns two to three thousand yuan a month. In the future, he wants to do marketing on his own. This summer, he signed up for an IELTS English class, saying that if he does global marketing in the future, his English must be excellent.
Two people manage the fun website
Character: Zheng Gaozhao
Summer experience: Founded Mifat.com last summer. I am looking for angel investment this summer and plan to revamp the website. .
During the summer vacation of my sophomore year, I went to Inner Mongolia. My classmate was the child of a herdsman. We were able to stay in a herdsman’s house deep in the grassland for a week, drink milk tea, milk wine, eat milk tofu, and ride horses on the grassland. A neighbor who raised sheep used his own sheep in exchange for tomatoes and eggs, and made us a dish that was very rare in their eyes: scrambled eggs with tomatoes. My first self-guided trip left an unforgettable memory for me.
What a pleasure it is if people who travel around the world share the interesting things they find! When going to Inner Mongolia, you can follow the route I took last time and see how to take the bus , you can ride on the grassland and drink from a big bowl like me. If you go to Hainan, you can know which store has delicious food and which beautiful beach is unknown. My friend Pubby and I are both travel enthusiasts. Last summer, we decided to create such a website. Of course, in addition to hobbies, we also have ambitions to earn millions of dollars.
When naming the website, I thought of "Mi Pang" from Sanmen, my hometown, Taizhou. Every time when the New Year is approaching, every household takes the best rice. The master pours the rice into a special pressure tank and burns it over a charcoal fire. After a loud "bang" sound, white and plump rice comes out. fat.
Last summer, Pubby and I mobilized our parents to "invest" 100,000 yuan and register a company. The company's English name, malmam, is taken from the initials of the proverb "many a little makes a mickle". It also demonstrates our belief that the little things build our dreams. Now, Mi Pang, you look very simple, but in fact, every bit of it has been thought through by us.
During the design process, we gradually learned about many well-known websites: 43places, flickr, and Douban, but in the end we decided to follow Google’s simple style. Go to our homepage, fill in the name of the place you want to go to in a box, and press Enter to see photos and messages of people who have been there and want to go.
Shortly after the website was founded, we received some invitations and acquisitions, including an invitation from a well-known company in Beijing with a monthly salary of more than 5,000 yuan, but in the end we rejected it because we could still make money on our own. Fat is good. However, the current Mi Pang is still far from our imagination, and this summer vacation is a hurdle. We plan to look for the first angel investment and at the same time "transform" Mi Pang. After the revision, different people (people who want to go, people who have been) will have different Mi Pang.
Reporter’s Notes: I logged into the Mi Pang website (mipang.com) and found that this is a very interesting place. Even the small noodle shop near Wangjiangmen in Hangzhou was also discussed. Zheng Gaozhao will study for a graduate degree in sociology at Zhejiang University in September. He chose this major to study virtual communities similar to Mi Pang. Now "Mi Pang" is just a two-person company in the Zijingang dormitory, but their dreams are big.
The big boy started a gym
Character: Song Xing
Summer experience: Last summer, I used the money I earned from hip-hop dancing to open a gym with others and cooperate with others. The leader withdrew, leaving him alone to support himself.
