She has mended bedding for 44 classmates: when her classmates were sick, she took the initiative to send medicine and water; in the dormitory, she fought to carry water and clean the dormitory. The dormitory she was in was a "civilized and polite" dormitory; She also often helps underachievers, and her class has been praised by the college many times.
Shao Xiaoli often helps others outside of school as well as inside. In mid-July 1981, she was admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Medical College due to skin disease. When she learned that a patient needed fresh rice for treatment, she went dozens of miles away in the rain to buy 40 kilograms of rice and delivered it to the patient's home. In March 1982, she was walking on the street with Guo Liya from the hospital when she suddenly spotted a five or six-year-old child crossing the road and a car speeding towards her. At this critical moment, Shao Xiaoli ran to the child and held her in his arms, thus avoiding an accident. In the early morning of June 17, 1982, three primary school students from the Xianyang Textile Machinery Factory Sub-School were playing in the water by the Youth Lake in Weiyang Weibin Park. A little girl named Shao Ping accidentally slipped and fell into the lake. The other two children shouted loudly: "Save people! Save people!" The shouts alarmed Shao Xiaoli, who was studying by the lake. She saw that the child was about to be submerged. , he jumped into the water without hesitation, grabbed Shao Ping, lifted it out of the water, and pushed it to the shore. However, the slope of the lake shore was slippery. She pushed the child to the shore several times. Just as she was about to land, she slipped again. She could not swim and could not stand steady in the water. She tried her best but still could not push the child to the shore. At this time, with the help of workers Jiao Yudong and Zhang Junjie, the child was rescued ashore. The child was saved, but Shao Xiaoli couldn't support it because he tried his best and sank to the bottom of the lake. Yang Laifu, a migrant worker who was under construction in the park, jumped into the water and rescued Shao Xiaoli ashore together with others. However, he died gloriously because he drowned for too long and the rescue was ineffective. He was 22 years old at the time.
In June of the same year, the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China made the "Decision on Carrying out Learning Activities from Comrade Shao Xiaoli." Shao Xiaoli was ratified as a member of the Communist Party of China. The provincial government approved him as a revolutionary martyr, and a monument was erected by Qingnian Lake in Weibin Park to commemorate him.
