In recent years, we can often see where a typhoon landed and how much damage it caused. So what are the names of these typhoons? In fact, before the beginning of the 20th century, typhoons did not have a formal name. Later, at the 30th meeting of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific held in Hong Kong, it was actually organized by the Typhoon Committee of the World Meteorological Organization, and it was finally decided that we should be able to identify a name that specifically represents Asian typhoons. It has an Asian-style name, so in 2 1 century, we began to use a new naming table to name typhoons, and the reason why we chose to name typhoons in an Asian-style way is also out of the need of disaster prevention and mitigation. As long as people hear these names, they can remember some of the injuries they bring and be more vigilant at the same time.
At present, typhoons have a total of 140 names. The 140 names are provided by 14 member countries in the Asia-Pacific region to which the World Meteorological Organization belongs, and one member country provides 10 names, totaling 140 names. Then divide the name 140 into 140. Finally, according to the initial size of the names of these member countries, they are recycled every year. That is to say, if there are more than 14 typhoons in a year, there may be two typhoons with the same name in a year, but this does not mean that the two typhoons are the same.
As for the name of the typhoon, you can't name it any way you want. For example, the name of a typhoon is particularly long, and there may be dozens of English letters. Specifically, the name of each typhoon cannot exceed 9 letters. In order to make people remember easily, these letters should be easy to pronounce. In addition, considering that the typhoon name is named out of respect for other member States, it cannot represent bad meaning in the languages of other member States, nor will it be given to other member States. After the member countries have contributed their own name 10, they have to obtain the consent of other member countries before they can be named typhoon.
Then it is equivalent to a tropical cyclone. In fact, its name will not change in the whole process of its existence and development, regardless of it, regardless of whether the wind will strengthen or weaken during this period.
