There are currently more than 4 temples in Wutai Mountain, and the number is still increasing. Wutai Peak is commonly known as five platforms, and the area surrounded by five platforms becomes "inside the platform", while other areas are called "outside the platform". There are about 5 monasteries distributed in the platform, which is small in scale. There are more than 3 seats outside Taiwan, which are large in scale.
Wutaishan temples are divided into two categories: green temples and yellow temples. Qing Temple is the temple of Han Buddhism, and Huang Temple is the temple of Tibetan Buddhism. For example, Bodhisattva Top and Wuye Temple are Yellow Temples. Xiantong Temple and Sonshoji are green temples. Millennium temples are mostly outside Taiwan, such as Ximing Temple in Han Dynasty, nanzenji and Bukkoji in Tang Dynasty, Shuangquan Temple in Yuan Dynasty and so on. Taihuai Town in Taiwan is basically a Ming and Qing temple with a relatively young architectural style. The ancient Buddhist temples are mainly outside Taiwan.
xiantong temple
Xiantong Temple is the largest temple in Wutai Mountain Temple Group, with a large scale. There are more than 4 large and small houses, most of which were built in Ming and Qing Dynasties. Along the central axis of the temple, there are seven halls, namely Guanyin Hall, Manjusri Hall, Giant Buddha Hall, Infinite Hall, Qianbo Hall, Bronze Hall and Tibetan Classics Hall. In addition, there are bell towers, monasteries and various accessory halls.
Tayuansi
Tayuan Temple is located in the south of Xiantong Temple in Taihuai Town, one of the five Zen places. The temple is dominated by stupas, the base of which is square and Tibetan, with a total height of about 6 meters and a square tower foundation. When the tower is built, the brick joints are all made of rice slurry and lime after mixing. The top of the tower is white, lifted up his eyes and looked up, towering into the sky. The white tower is shaped like an algae bottle, and Tully, dew plate and orb are all made of fine copper.
