The Rimet Cup, formerly known as the Victory Cup, was later renamed the Rimet Cup to commemorate Jules Rimet, the founder of the World Cup and former FIFA President. It is made of pure silver, with a gold-plated surface and a lapis lazuli base, and is shaped like a winged nikai (ν? κ η), designed and manufactured by abel lafleur. Brazil won the World Cup with 1958, 1962 and 1970 respectively, thus retaining the "Rimet Golden Cup" forever. Rimet Cup was stolen by thieves in Brazil on 1983, and it was suspected to have been melted. Later, the Brazilian Football Association made a replica to make up for it.
