In the Spring and Autumn Period, Guiyang was under the jurisdiction of the state of Xian; During the Warring States period, it belonged to Yelang State. During the Han Dynasty, it belonged to Ke County; In the Tang Dynasty, Jimi Prefecture was set in the south of Wujiang River, and Guiyang belonged to Rectangular Prefecture.
