I have lived and worked in Dongguan for three years. When I go to Dongguan in the summer, it is very important to choose a cool place to escape the heat when going out in this weather. I strongly recommend you to go to Shuilianshan Forest Park and Qifeng Park.

Shuilianshan Forest Park

Shuilianshan Forest Park is the most popular summer resort for Dongguan people. If you want to find a quiet park not too far away from the busy city life, this is the right place. The scenery along the way is definitely worth it - Shuilian Cave, Shuilian Waterfall, Mengxi Exploration, Tianchi, Xishan Temple, each place has a different scenery, and after climbing to the top, you can also overlook the bustling urban area of ??Dongguan.

Tickets: Free of charge. There is no charge for each attraction. However, there is a charge for the amusement facilities set up in the park. There is a sightseeing tram where you can store lighters, which costs 10 yuan each. The parking lot is 1 yuan per person for 2 hours, with a cap of 3 yuan, and the ticket to Butterfly Valley is 20 yuan.

Recommended attractions: The garden-in-a-garden landscape, Shuilian Cave, Pengdong Water Curtain, was one of the eight scenic spots in Dongguan during the Ming Dynasty. There is a spring on the mountain, the water is clear and sweet; there is the Gutong Mountain Temple, which is large in scale and has well-preserved ruins. It has a profound historical and cultural heritage, including the ruins of ancient temples from the Song Dynasty and the Ming Dynasty, as well as the campsite of the Dongjiang Column. Recommended route: Take the mountain road from the parking lot to the ancient temple square, and then follow the hiking trail directly to the top of the mountain. The whole journey takes about 1 hour.

Tips: Bring your own snacks and fruits. The water above is very expensive, a bottle costs 6 yuan. Moreover, it takes a long time to climb the mountain, so you need to bring an umbrella to protect yourself from the sun.

Qifeng Park

The "Dongguan Blessed Land" is the first of the eight scenic spots. If you want to cool off after get off work, climb mountains, sweat, and detoxify, most people living in the urban area will choose Qifeng Park, because the Huangqi Mountain in the park is only 189 meters above sea level, which is not high, but It’s also enough to get some exercise. And the red lantern on the top of the mountain is also worth visiting from time to time. It is not only the first of the eight scenic spots in Dongguan.
