Baotu Spring Attractions-Tour Guide!

Baotu Spring Tour Guide's Words

Dear friends, we are now at Baotu Spring Park, one of the three major scenic spots in Jinan.

Baotu Spring Park is a natural landscape park with natural springs as the main landscape, integrating the characteristics of Jiangnan gardens and a distinctive national style. It is one of the famous tourist attractions in Jinan City. Baotu Spring Park was built in 1956 and was named after the Baotu Spring in the park. It is located in the center of Jinan, with a total area of ??10.5 hectares. Together with Daming Lake and Qianfo Mountain, it is known as the three major scenic spots in Jinan City. Baotu Spring is the top of the 72 famous springs in Jinan and is known as "the best spring in the world". It forms the Baotu Spring Group with more than 20 nearby springs such as Jinxian Spring, Shuyu Spring, Liuxu Spring and Mapao Spring. . The water quality of Baotu Spring is clean, refreshing and sweet, and the water temperature is constant at about 18 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The waves splashing from the three springs, and "Baotu soaring into the sky" are one of the eight scenic spots in Jinan. In the years before 2003, due to persistent drought and the use of water for industry and agriculture, the groundwater level dropped. The water level of Baotu Spring could not reach the height of 26.8 meters, and the spectacular scene of the Baotu Spring was no longer visible. I can only appreciate the style of Baotu Spring from some pictures and my introduction. However, in recent years, the Jinan Municipal Government has adopted a series of water-saving and spring-preserving measures, such as closing all self-owned wells in the urban area, artificial recharge, and building a reservoir in the south. In addition, the weather has been kind in recent years, and the rainfall has exceeded 30%. Starting from September 6, 2003, all springs began to flow again, and the water is still strong today. Everyone is very lucky today. I think we should be able to initially understand the artistic conception of the beautiful scenery of "every spring in every house and weeping poplars in every house" a long time ago!

East Gate Entrance Area

East Gate: Baotu Spring Park has three gates. The gate of this national-style building with white walls and gray tiles, rolling eaves, and rolling shed that we see is the east gate of Baotu Spring. The three gilded characters "Baotu Spring" on the plaque on the gate were inscribed by Comrade Guo Moruo when he came to Jinan in 1959.

Rockery: When entering the gate, the first thing that catches our eyes is this rockery. This rockery was built in 1964 using rocks from the mountainous area in southern Jinan. These rocks are called North Taihu rocks because their quality and color are similar to Taihu rocks in Wuxi, Jiangsu. Do you know why we need to build a rockery at the front door? This uses the technique of blocking the scenery in Chinese classical gardening art to block the beautiful scenery in the garden, leaving people in suspense and stimulating the idea of ????continuing to visit. There is an old Chinese saying that when you encounter a peak, turn right. That is to say, when you encounter a mountain peak, turn right. Now please follow me and turn right to continue visiting.

Qingyu Bridge: What we are seeing now is a wonder of Baotu Spring. This small bridge is called Qingyu Bridge. It is named after the Qingyu Creek below. The sky is clear, but we are looking at it. It is famous for the fact that it looks like rain on the stream.

Shuyuquan Scenic Area

Guishi Stone: The towering stone in front of us is called Turtle Stone. It is a famous Taihu stone and was collected by Zhang Yanghao, a Sanqu writer in the Yuan Dynasty. Zhang Yanghao is a native of Jinan. He loves the natural mountains and rivers. After abandoning his official position and living in seclusion in Jinan, he became friends with mountain apes, wild cranes, and rocks. According to records, he once collected 10 famous stones, 4 of which were named dragon, phoenix, turtle and lin according to their shapes, collectively known as the four spiritual stones. Nowadays, the location of the other three spiritual stones is unknown, leaving only this turtle stone for people to pay homage to. Do you think this stone looks like two turtles, standing face to face? This turtle stone has a graceful posture and natural texture. It is 4 meters high and weighs 8 tons. It can be called the first famous stone in Jinan. It has the characteristics of Taihu stone, which is thin, wrinkled, transparent, leaky and beautiful. Most tourists take photos with the stone here, which means longevity.

Shu Yuquan: The clear spring in front of us is also one of the 72 famous springs in Jinan, named Shu Yuquan. As you can see, the three characters "Shu Yuquan" were written by the late Jinan calligrapher and painter Guan Yousheng. There are different opinions about the origin of Shuyuquan. One of them comes from the idiom "Soushi pillow flow". During the Jin Dynasty, Sun Tzu Jing wanted to live in seclusion, so he told his friend Wang Wu Zi that he wanted to "wash a stone with a pillow to wash the stream." Because of a slip of the tongue, he said "Rush the stone with a pillow of the stream." "So wash the stone to sharpen your teeth; so sleep on the stream to wash your ears." It implies the intention of cleansing the body, caring for oneself, and sharpening one's aspirations. "Shuyu" spring replaces jade with stone, which more accurately expresses the clean and soft water quality of the spring water. Some people also say that women's teeth were called "jade" in ancient times. When the famous patriotic poetess Li Qingzhao of the Song Dynasty lived here, she often washed and dressed by the spring, hence the name.

There is also a theory that it got its name from Li Qingzhao's collection of poems "Shu Yuquan", but there is no way to verify whether the collection of poems came first and then the name of the spring, or whether the name of the spring came first and then the collection of poems.

Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall: The classical-style building on our right is the "Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall". This was built in 1959 to commemorate the outstanding female poet of the Song Dynasty, according to records that Li Qingzhao's former residence was beside Shuyu Spring. The memorial hall covers an area of ??300 square meters and has the architectural style of the Song Dynasty. After expansion in 1999, it now covers an area of ??more than 4,000 square meters, with pavilions and pavilions surrounded by streams, making it one of the largest Li Qingzhao memorial halls in China. The screen we see now is the poem inscribed by Mr. Guo Moruo for Li Qingzhao in 1959. In the front is "a poet of a generation" and at the back is "passed down through the ages". These are a few lines from a poem written by Guo Moruo for the Li Qingzhao Memorial Hall. The whole poem is: "A generation of poets has an old residence. How regretful it is to have been wandering for half a life. Today it is deserted and vigorous. It is a book that will be passed down for thousands of years." The plantains, crabapples, osmanthus and other plants planted in the courtyard were all plants that Li Qingzhao liked during his lifetime.

Let’s take a look at the woodcut couplets on the pillars in front of the main hall of the memorial hall. The first couplet is: "The former residence of the Baotu Spring on the Daming Lake is deep in the Chuiyang", and the second couplet is: "The literary style of Shuyu's collection of gold and stone records has the legacy of the late master." The first couplet talks about the beautiful environment of Li Qingzhao's former residence, and the second couplet talks about the beautiful environment of Li Qingzhao's former residence. What's more, the lyrics written by Li Qingzhao and the preface written for her husband's "Jinshilu" have the style of Li Yu, the later master of the Southern Tang Dynasty. (Li Yu, as an emperor, he failed, but as a scholar, he occupied a place. His poem "Yu Meiren" is written like this: "When did the spring flowers and autumn moon come, how much do you know about the past? There was an east wind in the small building last night, and the motherland was unbearable. Looking back at the moonlight, the jade railings are still there, but the beauty has changed. I ask you how much sorrow you have, just like a river of spring water flowing eastward." I believe everyone is very familiar with this poem.
