Meet the bookstore, meet you

If you are determined to stay permanently, you will become a perfect place.

A bookstore called Fangsuo with a very literary feel.

On the tail end of National Day, I went to this bookstore. The feeling of visiting a bookstore seems a bit strange. The huge bookshelf now is dazzling years ago.

So, I suddenly remembered the last time, the last time, or a long time ago, when I visited a bookstore. That has become a distant light-year away.

1.

I think the first time I really visited a bookstore was when I was in the second grade of elementary school.

When I was a child, my father would sometimes take me to my aunt’s house. There is a very lively small street next to my aunt's house, where you can buy all kinds of food and clothing. Once, my father and I passed by there, and there was a small bookstore inside. The shop owner is an old man sitting on a wicker chair and shaking a wicker fan. He looked at me, then smiled and asked me what grade I was in, and I said second grade. He asked me if I wanted to read a book, and I nodded. He said, OK, you can make your own choice. After speaking, he pointed to an area filled with children's books.

For the first time, I spent an entire afternoon in a bookstore looking at comic books and storybooks. I remember that the last book I bought was called "Animal Stories". It had a dark blue cover and phonetic notations inside. This should be the first book I actually bought. After I got home, it took me almost two days to read it. Later, I seemed to have read it several times one after another, and I was very familiar with the storyline.

Later, every time I went to my aunt's house, I would go to the small bookstore to buy books, and successively bought various versions of "Animal Stories", "One Thousand and One Nights", "Grimm's Fairy Tales" and so on.

I always remember the little old bookstore on the busy street and the old man who liked to keep shaking his fan.

2.

When I was in the third grade, I moved to another place.

At that time, my father often took me to Xinhua Bookstore. The store was very big and not the kind I had seen before. In the summer, the air-conditioning is always on in the bookstore. I like to sit in a small corner with a book and spend the whole day shivering from the cold.

Slowly, the books I read changed from comics and fairy tales to various novels. I remember that at that time, I loved reading the books of Sister Sunshine and Sister Braid. I could read them many, many times without getting tired of them. They wrote many stories about children, which were great. The first complete novel I read was "One-Winged Angel Is Not Alone" by Sister Sunshine. I saw this book recommended in the "Guangdong No. 2 Classroom" issued by the school, and then I saved up my money and finally went to the bookstore to buy it.

I remember it was a winter night when I went to buy that book. Winter in the south was still very cold. When I came out of the bookstore holding the book, my breath turned into white mist. I ran across the long dark overpass with mottled lights, and I was really excited inside.

I still can’t forget that feeling.

During that innocent and immature primary school period, I was greatly influenced by them, so much so that I once wrote some novels imitating their style. Now it seems that it is an extremely childish murmur. However, those have become years that I cannot forget.

3.

When I was in junior high school, many girls around me began to read various romance novels with colorful covers. Perhaps CEO stories became popular from that time on Bar. It's just that I'm not particularly into those.

There was a Chinese teacher at that time, and I had a very good relationship with him. His office is small, but he has a bookshelf that takes up a lot of space. There are many foreign books in it. I borrowed books from him. I remember it was Hugo's "Les Misérables". It was very thick and had two volumes. I read it quickly, and then I found that my passion for foreign novels was starting to get out of control.

On weekends, I often take the bus for more than 20 minutes to go to the library, where there are more books. I watch Hugo Shakespeare, or Kafka Tolstoy, or Thomas Mark Twain, etc.

I like the feeling of a completely different narrative style from China, which is cool.

At that time, I pretended to start writing reading notes.

That is the comfort of an age that loves novelty.

4.

Came to high school.

When I was visiting a bookstore one time, I saw a magazine with a unique cover design. It was called "Sprouting". At that time, Germination still had a very unique cover design, which was thinner than now. The layout style inside was also more unique than other magazines, and the articles were also very good.

That’s where I was introduced to some incredible writers that I still love today. The first one should be Guo Jingming. When I really got to know Guo Jingming, he had already become a director, and he didn't keep publishing books like before. The first book of his that I bought in a bookstore was his collection of essays "Huai Shi Yu Sha". During that extremely sensitive period called adolescence, I especially liked his words. Every story he described felt as if he was right next to me. Later, I read all his other books and still liked them very much.

This directly caused his writing style to have a great influence on me. When I was in high school, my writing always had a vague feeling of Guo Jingming's writing style, the kind of sad and decisive singing in a low voice. The most obvious result is that I am very good at writing all kinds of prose, but I have a headache when it comes to commentaries on current affairs. A teacher who liked my writing very much told me about this matter more than once.

Later on, I also particularly liked Changan Luoluo in August of the year Qijin. I bought "The Bed Is the Tomb of Youth" by Qi Jin in the bookstore. I liked it very much. I also read "Lamp of the Earth" by Qi Jin and so on. Every book is worth reading several times. Every time, it seems to be a different feeling.

In many, many late nights, I read their books and was so moved more than once that I couldn't help myself. It’s very cold at night in winter, and I have the illusion that I’m on a mountain at a very high altitude, but I still feel that their words are particularly warm.

There will be a wall on the wall of the bookstore, with some shelves nailed to it, and bestsellers will be placed according to rankings. I often look up and look down there.

This is the high school era that various movies and novels love to portray. Meeting you is a small blessing.

Thinking about it this way, it has been a long time since the last time I really visited a bookstore, and I feel guilty in my heart. I like it there, because there, I always have the illusion that other things in this world have nothing to do with me for the time being, and I am in a world of my own.

I read an article about the dream of opening a bookstore. It makes people feel that such days are as calm as water, so quiet that they are suffocating.

I hope that every time I meet a bookstore, I can meet a better version of myself and a better you. Every time, it will be a different encounter.
