The Wu in the mansion gate is Guiwu, and Guiwu's uncle Zhan is the prince of Mongolia. There is no prototype in the play. Dazhaimen is a novel of the same name by Guo Baochang in the TV series Dazhaimen. This book describes the legendary story of a famous doctor family in Beijing from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China.
