After becoming a monk, I came to Gushan. The old mage Ci Zhou is from Suixian County, Hubei Province. He asked me to read Hua Yan Jing, but I couldn't understand it, even the sentences. He asked me to write an autobiography, but I can't write it well. The old mage smiled and said, "Hey! This is Huayan University. " My classmates are all southerners, so I just hung on for half a year. Actually, I was sixteen years old that year. Once, the old mage asked me, "Can you stand the pain?" I said, "I can eat. I am not afraid of any hardships, as long as I am wise. 」
"Then you kowtow to confession while others are sleeping. After that, I have to recite Pu Xian Wish. " I will do as he tells me.
There is a saying in the college that burning incense and burning arms is Buddha. Other students think it's wrong, so I'll do it honestly. After that, I went to the old monk's class again and suddenly understood a little. The more I understand, the more I understand, the deeper I understand. Later, the old master slowly trained me to give lectures. At the age of twenty, he took me to Fuzhou to talk about the Amitabha Sutra. When you become a mage, you will get a little carried away. Everyone has to go through this process, that is, if they don't know themselves, they will gradually accept the support and appreciation of others.
Therefore, if you sincerely seek the Tao, you will gain wisdom; if you are delusional, you will lose wisdom. I have been in prison for more than ten years, and a disciple asked me, what are you thinking in it? In fact, what I am thinking is four sentences: "If a hot iron wheel rotates above your head; In the end, I won't suffer this, I will lose my bodhicitta. They blessed me through those years.
I remember when I first came to Xiamen, I asked Master Hongyi to talk about random karma. I asked, "Random? What plane do you use? " The old mage said, "You will learn slowly. Machine is not necessarily fixed by karma. Karma translated into Chinese means "doing things". What do you do? Do all the Buddhist things. Buddha, he has a certain system, according to this system, to do Buddhist things. When doing things, monks get together to discuss what to do. This is random karma. The Shurangama Sutra says that the mind changes with the environment, and our mystery and sincerity have been polluted, and our delusions are reversed, regardless of right and wrong. If we want to correct it, we must follow the teachings of the Buddha.
When I used to learn the commandments, I always recited them first, and then asked them after I recited them. I told Cilao that I couldn't keep a few commandments. He said, "Why? Confess your sins. " I said, "I'm not used to squatting and urinating. I have to change my pants! " I once asked Master Hongyi, "Do you break the rules when you smoke? The mage replied: "The Buddha did not set a commandment in this world, but it damaged his prestige. Later, when preaching precepts in Quanzhou, Dade wanted to add quitting smoking to the precepts. Master Hony said, "This can't be added. Commandments can only be formulated by Buddhism, and future generations cannot add them. Yeah, it's endless if you add more.
In our time, there are 16,000 big arhats in this world. Sakyamuni refused to let them go extinct, but let you get close to them. Manjusri, Pu Xian, Guanyin and Dizang are around you every day, and they are everywhere. It is immoral for you not to get close to them. With your morality, you only deserve to know a monk like me. If you want to understand everything the Buddha said, you are wrong. What is Buddhism? Buddha is sleep. What is sleep? Sleep is to understand. You see, you are the Buddha; You realize that you are the Buddha. The way to understand is your mind. When we are upset, we will open the scripture and meditate, read it carefully and see what the Buddha says. After reading it, you will have repentance and a little consciousness. When you finish learning Buddhism, your troubles will be gone and solved.
When I first became a monk, I swore: I must start from myself, I did it myself, I got it myself, and I counted. I don't believe how well he speaks to others. I want to see what he does. What many people say is different from what they do. I am equal to everyone else. We are disciples of the Buddha. I don't pay much attention to the seniority of mentoring. In fact, we are all disciples of Sakyamuni Buddha. The fundamental commandment of "kill, steal, win and jump" cannot be broken! It's hard to repent. Regardless of national laws or human feelings, you must never do it.
The premise of keeping precepts is to guard against your own heart first and start from your own heart first. If your starting point is to follow the path of Bodhisattva, you don't have to care what others say. I have many mistakes myself, and I confess to you that I support you.
