Wulongtan is related to the legend of Shandong hero Qin Qiong at the end of Sui Dynasty and the beginning of Tang Dynasty. It is said that Qin Qiong's mansion sank after a heavy rain, forming Wulongtan. It is said that there is a stone tablet of "Qin Qiong's former residence" by the pond, who probably did it.
Wulongtan, also known as Chi Jing, Wulongtan and Longju Spring, was once a part of Daming Lake in ancient times. According to legend, in the past, Wulongtan was quite spiritual. Whenever there is drought, praying for rain by the pond is a spiritual activity. So in the early Yuan Dynasty, a temple was built by the pool, in which five dragon gods were molded, and later it was called Wulongtan.
