The Relationship between Bao Gong and Guo Huai

In the folk, he is a well-known prototype figure representing justice, and the folklore attached to him is a group of stories with detective interest and justice. In these stories, what justice pursues is "the desire to cheat", which gives it an eternal theme of shock, charm and reflection-"crime and punishment"

As a tool to express thoughts and feelings, is Bao Gong true or false? Did Bao Gong break them all? Is Bao Gong really an obvious example? These are secondary issues ("Bao Gong" is actually just the psychological projection of the storyteller). Because in the minds of writers and readers, they are just "symbols" of desire and justice, crime and punishment. What is important is the information that these "symbols" want to convey. They are eternal, just like a deep sigh across historical time and space, which implies the echo from the chest ups and downs and spiritual lines of the Han nationality. It is interesting to determine these ups and downs and lines, because they more or less describe the general thinking of a racial group at the crossroads of desire and justice.

Before "Justice" appeared, what Bao Gong Keyes said was actually a story of "derailed desire". The author's "Xiu Xiang Longtu Case-solving" (edited by Tongzhi Xu Jianian and Meng Chunfu, originally published in Gusu) consists of five volumes and 100 articles (including only 57-60 articles by the police). After a little classification, we can find that 46 cases involve lust, and 36 cases involve lust and hatred. This ratio reflects the "evil map" in the real world, not the "evil pedigree" in the hearts of the world. The crimes caused by "attacking desire" such as pure hatred have been diluted here, while the derailment of two "sweet desires" such as "lust" and "lust" has been highlighted.

However, Long Tugong 'an emphasized that these two desires are enough to "smoke the heart", and it seems that he did not want to provide readers with "alternative satisfaction" as psychoanalysis said (committing that crime in his heart through reading); On the contrary, what it wants to instill in readers is a rather strong sense of darkness and hardship. Because when reading, readers often unconsciously imitate the protagonists in the story, and these protagonists are "victims" and victims of others' wanton desires.

Below, let's read the worrying "evil genealogy" in Longtu case-solving according to the "types" of desire derailment and justice redemption:

Dark consciousness about desire

As the so-called "head of all evils", the case of "sticking a tooth in the ground" can be regarded as the representative of its "dark consciousness" about lust. When Bao Gong was young, he patrolled Nanzhili, where an old man's widow had an affair with a family house for 180 years. The widow's brother-in-law repeatedly refused to listen and sued Bao Gong. Bao Gong thought to himself, "I am eighty years old and I am exhausted. Is there adultery? " When he tortured old people and widows, he said, "No". For this reason, he forgot to eat, and his sister-in-law Wang inquired about it, so he sued his sister-in-law for this word. "Wang didn't want to say anything, so he told his uncle through clenched teeth and realized it." Then he went to court and "tortured" the old man and widow. As a result, they finally "confessed adultery."

What did Bao Gong realize when he saw his sister-in-law gnashing her teeth? Mr. Wu Zhai, a critic of the Dragon Map Case, said that "men and women must die before they die". I think many readers are still puzzled after listening to this "explanation". It is more obscure to symbolize "lust after death" with women's hairpins embedded in the ground than to symbolize sexual intercourse with psychoanalysis, but Wang, who is chaste and virtuous, can come up with this symbol, and his justice is awe-inspiring, which shows that "good people" are particularly obsessed with lust. Just like the "saints" in western medieval churches, they used their "worried imagination" to describe various "sinful sexual postures", forcing confessors to ask whether they had committed these ulterior crimes. The more "honest" people are, the more they think about the "depravity" of bad people, the more indignant they are. But in fact, the "depravity" of bad people is usually not as "rich" and "profound" as they think. This is what I call "the dark consciousness of lust": the desire is strong and terrible, and I try my best to suppress it with "benevolence, righteousness and morality", and those with weak will must be "thieves and prostitutes"; This subtle psychology is the product of "reaction formation" and "projection" in psychoanalysis.

Among the 46 cases involving lust, 9 cases were committed by monks, accounting for a fairly high proportion. It stands to reason that monks are pure in heart, but the monks in the Longtu case-solving are: "The young monk is destined to stay with my wife for one night today, and Futian is like the sea, and his kindness is like the sky" (Amitabha made peace) and "(He) was a monk, and his heart was crazy" (drying clothes). This is also the "dark consciousness" at work: lust is so strong and terrible that monks who can't vent their feelings in this respect will "inevitably" do harm to the world. As a result, the Longtu case-solving is all "sexually active" monks.

However, this kind of "dark consciousness" is inconvenient to say. Just as Wang Can just "told his uncle what he knew" with his teeth, the author of "Longtu Public Security" skillfully showed his "worry" in two situations (or speaking for everyone). These two cases are very familiar to Chinese people, one is "killing a husband" and the other is "examining a wife", which are described as follows:

One of the anxiety consciousness of lust: killing husband

The story of Baita Lane tells that one day when I passed Baita Lane, I heard a woman named Awu cry twelve times, calling her husband Liu. "His voice was half sad and half happy, not sad." Bao Gong suspected her husband's "unknown death" and sent an autopsy to Chen Mou to "examine the coffin". Chen Mou found no scars and thought the death was real. Bao Gong didn't believe it. Please ask him to find out again. When he got home in frustration, his wife Yang suggested that he check the nose of the deceased. It turns out that Liu has "two nails" in his nose. Bao Gong then tortured Awu to extract a confession, and Awu confessed that he "committed adultery with the picture and was afraid that her husband would be unconscious and killed." But the story didn't end there. When he learned that the "inspiration" for checking the nose of the deceased came from Chen's wife Yang, who was a remarried woman, he also "checked the coffin of Yang's ex-husband". The result was also "two nails on the nose", so she solved her husband's two major murders in one fell swoop.

Listening to a woman's crying reminds us that she murdered her husband, which not only deifies Bao Gong's "prudence and strategy", but also highlights the aforementioned "dark consciousness" and "sensitive obsession" with lust. His wife's "revelation" is similar to the "secret code" he got from Wang, but what he wants to convey this time is a sense of urgency: the derailment of his wife's desire will bring great disaster to her husband!

In the Longtu case-solving, a * * * had four wives and murdered her husband because of having an affair (Baita Lane, Linjiang Pavilion, Longdong, peeping through the wall). A sentence in Linjiang Pavilion, "Gu Yun knows that there is an adulteress in her family, and her husband can't protect her all her life", tells the "worry" in her husband's heart in the traditional patriarchal society. But even if the wife is not an adulteress, there are four cases (yellow leafy vegetables, cook's wine, Yuezhou map and Lion Lane) that are despised by others because of their beauty.

But there are also several virgins in the Longtu case-solving. The so-called virgin, when other people's desires want to plot against themselves, must strongly resist. There are six kinds of women who "bite their tongues" or are killed by the other side (Amitabha peace, vomiting blood, biting their tongues and forcing their throats, Sanbaotang, embroidered shoes buried in mud, Sanguanjing). On the whole, lust takes the lead in the case-solving of Dragon Map full of male views. There are only two kinds of women in the world: virgins and adulterers. The virgin herself died unnaturally, while an adulteress caused her husband to die unnaturally or suffered other disasters (such as the ruins of a sewer thief and accepting the invitation). In the case of "taking away the invitation", Bao Gong said: "(She) is an adulteress, and she will not die. Although she was beaten and scolded, she would only abscond. " This is another episode of Dark Consciousness. How worrying it is to be a "fairy whore"!

The second anxiety consciousness of lust: trying a wife

The only man who "killed his wife" in "Dragon Map Police" is Zhang Ying in "The True Color of Dead Wine", but he "made the first move". It turns out that Zhang Ying went to be an official, and his wife committed adultery with Zhu Ke Qiu. When Zhang Ying came home, he "saw a spit on the bedside" and knew that it was left by "a man", so he secretly pressed the maid. After learning about this, he pushed the maid into the pool and drowned. After a long silence, he pushed his wife into the wine trough and strangled her. She also tried to convict Qiu, and Bao Gong is investigating the matter. Listening to Mr. Wu Zhai's criticism of this case is: "Zhang Ying's suspicion is also learned."

The doubt and test of his wife's chastity is the "great question" in China's folktales. There was "Zhuang Zhou tried his wife" before, and then "Xue Pinggui beat his wife", but the case of "trying the fake and trying the truth" really brought this "anxiety to the extreme": Lin 'an people were "infatuated and suspicious" and married "resolute and honest", but Hong was not at ease. The wife said, "I will definitely scold." How dare I approach it? " Hongdu asked again: "What if someone rapes with a knife and doesn't listen?" The wife said, "I will let him kill me and never lose face." Hongdu asked again, "What if a few people come to arrest you as a traitor?" The wife said: "I see many people, so I will commit suicide first and lead an honest and clean life. This is the best policy;" Or be polluted by it, die categorically, and have no face to see you. " However, Hong Du still didn't believe it. A few days later, he "ordered a person to try playing with his wife" and "was scolded by his aunt"; However, Hongdu still can't let go of the "boulder in his heart". A few days later, he entrusted three frivolous prodigals, A, Ying and Mo, to "try their wives", and the three of them broke in. Because, you should grasp your right hand and left hand, and don't take off your clothes, "there is no place to die", and you are both sad and angry. After the culottes were taken off, Yu Heying couldn't help letting go when she saw that she was "humiliated too much". Zheng Gu "had to take off his hands, that is, he killed DOG with a knife, which was unbearable and he committed suicide with a knife". Yu Heying told Hongdu that Hongdu's "regret is wrong", but he was afraid that Yue Jia and Mo Jia would find out and there would be another story, so he first sued Mo for "rape and murder". Bao Gong tried the case and personally inspected the scene. He found that Zheng Gu "cut off her nakedness before she died" and Momo "killed her bed with all her clothes". The governor became suspicious and tortured two witnesses to understand why she married. As a result, Zheng Gu "gave a plaque to praise Zhen Lie".

The gentler is to "become a wife" because it is suspected that the wife is "dishonest". For example, in the case of hanging clothes, the woman Song waited for her husband to come back at the door. A monk passed by and fell into the swamp, covered in water. Song asked him to hang clothes outside so that her husband Qin could come back from outside. "I am very unhappy", that is, he said to Song, "I have to understand my husband.

However, whether it is "killing a wife", "trying a wife" or "getting married", conspiring with an adulterer to "kill a husband" with his ex-wife can be said to be two sides of "anxiety consciousness" The latter is "passive victim" and the former is "active self-defense". Of course, these two kinds of cases are not enough to cover the whole picture of Longtu public security lust crime, but they are two "evil pedigrees" worth pondering. Even today, male chauvinism has come to an end, and empathetic wives no longer need to murder their husbands to get rid of the shackles of marriage. Although the worries in this area have been greatly reduced, sexual openness has greatly increased the "dark consciousness" in men's hearts.

The "Third Knowledge" about Profit and Desire

Although there are 36 cases involving lust solved by Longtu, they are far less "wonderful" than those involving lust. Most of these cases are boatmen, hotels, hunters, local ruffians, etc., and most of them are "headless cases" on business trips. Even in today's "scientific case handling", it is difficult to grasp enough clues to detect this kind of robbery. However, in Long Tu Gong An, the criminal can't get away with it, and Bao Gong mainly relies on his keen intuition (poetic knowledge) and wise reasoning (scientific knowledge). The so-called "third knowledge" refers to another broad and vague way of understanding besides poetic knowledge and scientific knowledge, which includes apocalypse, magic, apparition, dreaming and mysticism. Of the 36 cases of lust, 18 cases were solved by this kind of "third knowledge", which is quite high (some cases of lust were solved by this kind of "knowledge", but the proportion is not so high).

Take Yin Mu as an example. On the way, Bao Gong "suddenly flew around and his horse's head was completely circled three times". Bao Gong thought to himself, "Is there something unknown in this?" He sent someone with flies to dig up a body under the maple tree next to the ridge. Another example is the case of the rabbit in the hat. When Bao Gong went to Wuchang House to review the case file, he was sleepy and dreamed that he "saw a rabbit wearing a hat running to the front of the chopping board". When Bao Gong woke up, he thought that "the rabbit in the hat is the word' injustice'", and he thought there must be injustice in it. Another example is the case of "roe deer". When Bao Gong returned to his official residence and came to the hillside, "a strange wind suddenly blew", which made people look everywhere and found an unknown dead body. When Bao Gong returned to his official residence, he was "mentally sleepy", so he dreamed that "a man was headless, bleeding profusely, with roe in front and deer behind him". After waking up, I realized that the murderer's name was Zhang (deer).

However, the most magical case is "Blame", in which thieves robbed Li Hao's property, put their bodies in a kiln and burned them into a black pot, mashed them into ashes and sold them to the king. Wang got up at night to pee in five pots, and five pots shouted foul. Wang was frightened and reported the case with Wu Bi. During the first interrogation, Wu Pen "refused" Bao Gong's question because he consciously "naked" to see the official indecent; The next day, Wang put clothes on five pots. After going to see them, five pots told the story of Ding Shi brothers' robbery and murder.

A man who cheated because of others' greed not only died, but also his ashes were burned into a black basin for people to pee; When Wu Bi met the official, he still insisted on "putting on clothes" before revealing his difficulties. This anthropomorphic, insulting and reserved contrast of the five pots not only tells us how sad the ghost of Li Hao is, but also tells us that the pursuit of justice is often full of twists and turns.

Listening to Mr. Wuzhai, he said, "It will be like a black basin, and there is no danger of overturning it in the world." The problem is that it seems that only Bao Gong has this kind of "third knowledge" in the world, and this kind of "third knowledge" is actually a ghostly "self-help", and this kind of "self-help" needs to meet Bao Gong's "blue sky" to be effective! In fact, it is only a vague sustenance, just like the hell we will talk about later, and it is a psychological compensation for all kinds of grievances and injustices in the world.

The restoration of justice depends on the "self-help" of the deceased, which is also the projection of the aforementioned "dark consciousness" and "hardship consciousness".

The last judgment of hell
