What's the use of ancient silver cakes and military salaries?

This coin is engraved with a birthday star pattern in the center of the front, with the words "Happy New Year to Daoguang" and "Wenzu Silver Cake" engraved on the left and right sides respectively, and the words "Bitter Peace to Qier" are cast on the bottom; Baoding pattern is cast in the middle of the back, and the words "Taiwan House Casting" are cast on the outer ring.
