Picture of eight-character bandage

The method of figure-eight bandage is as follows:

1, the hand starts from the wrist, and the direction covers from the back of the hand to the tiger's mouth.

2. When winding, leave a little finger nail and surround it with parallel knuckles.

3, on the back of the hand, it is crossed in a figure of eight and gradually approaches the wrist.

4. Each bar should be parallel and closely spaced, about 1 finger width.

The eight-character bandage fixation method is mainly used for ankle trauma dressing and clavicle fracture fixation. Firstly, the figure-eight bandage fixation method of ankle joint is introduced. Bandage from the instep to the arch, around the ankle and then around the instep, wrapped in a figure of eight, turned over the instep, and then tied around the ankle to complete the dressing.

Figure-8 bandage fixation method for clavicle fracture: the patient takes a sitting position, passes the bandage through the bilateral armpits and shoulders and backs of the patient in figure-8, and finally is tied or fixed on the back of the patient. This method makes the shoulder stretch backward through the winding of the figure-eight bandage, and maintains the reduction of clavicle fracture.

Eight-character bandage fixation is generally used for external fixation of clavicle fracture in conservative treatment. The specific operation method is as follows: the patient sits on the bench, the operator stands behind the patient, holds the spine on one knee, and pulls back with his hands on his shoulders, so that the patient can hold his head high and hold his chest high. Wrap the bandage around the front side of the shoulders, bypassing the armpit, forming a horizontal figure of 8 on the back side, and the tail can be tied and fixed.

Note that it is best to add a cotton pad to the fracture to assist compression. After operation, we should pay attention to the changes of blood supply, sensation and movement around the hands of patients. If you feel insensitive and have poor blood supply, you should loosen the bandage in time to prevent neurovascular injury.
