For this link, please refer to Notes on Clever Interpretation (Volume 6): "Wang Yangming met Sesshū Tōyō with his father when he was young, and his father clicked on this pair, and Yangming answered it." The first couplet "a leaf" refers to a boat. "Six flowers" means snowflakes. Snowflake crystal has six petals, hence its name. "One leaf carries six flowers" and "Snow presses a lonely boat" are very apt. The next couplet is "Piandian", which refers to the goose. Both The Book of Wild Goose and The Story of Wild Goose refer to letters, which originated from the book biography of Hongyan. "Eight-character" refers to a character shaped like "eight". Generation refers to the "eight" shape of the array. By using metonymy rhetoric sentence by sentence, the scenes such as "snow pressing the boat alone" and "geese crossing the distance" are vividly described. In addition, the language is humorous and playful, which is not only poetic but also interesting.
