What are the eight tricks of the eight-character method?

The eight strokes of the word "Yong" are actually eight strokes of the word "Yong", which represent the general strokes in China's calligraphy, namely "horizontal stroke, twisting stroke, crossbow stroke, horizontal stroke, pecking stroke and stroke", which is clearly explained in Liu Zongyuan's book "An Introduction to China Calligraphy".

The focus is on the side-such as the upside down of birds; Cross for le-such as rein in the horse; Vertical crossbow-hard also; The hook is a chariot-jumping posture, the same as jumping; Think of it as a strategy-such as riding a horse with a whip; Skimming-for example, grazing with grates; A short pass is a peck-just like a bird's peck; This is the voice of a philosopher, the crack of a sacrifice and the opening of a pen.

Eight permanent strokes are the rule of China's calligraphy. Taking the eight strokes of the word "Yong" as an example, this paper expounds the writing method of block letters. According to legend, it was invented by Zhi Yong in Sui Dynasty or Wang Xizhi in Eastern Jin Dynasty or Zhang Xu in Tang Dynasty. Because this is the basic rule of writing regular script, later generations call these eight strokes calligraphy.

It is a kind of wisdom for the ancients to choose words forever and set eight methods.

1. First of all, from the perspective of harmony, China's soft-brush calligraphy is difficult to write with points, strokes, strokes, and strokes, and it is difficult to master all the harmony characters, which can be extrapolated, including the horizontal folding, which is beneficial to the training of pen rotation.

2. Secondly, from the structural point of view, the word Yong is vertical and straight, which is conducive to training the font to be correct, not staggered, and training the font to be square and basically symmetrical on both sides. The word "brave" is the image of a living person. At the beginning of a point, two arms and two legs extend in all directions. It is obvious which arm is long and which leg is short. Next time, when you contract for a short time and expand for a long time, people stand well. Other words are natural and atmospheric, so the word Yong is the most appropriate.

3. Finally, the Eight-character Method is mainly used to enlighten people who study calligraphy regularly, so as to establish the cognition of strokes and structures, understand the rules of Chinese characters, form behavior patterns, and then internalize them into habits. The perfection and repetition of habits make a master of calligraphy.
