since we are talking about numerology, let's start with the most basic things, and let's get to know the ten heavenly stems and twelve earthly branches first.
trunk, as the name implies, means trunk and branch. There are branches and stems, which is a complete tree, so the heavenly stems are branched above the ground and below, and this combination is a complete whole. The ancients originally named heavenly stems and earthly branches with this meaning, but in eight-character numerology, the earthly branches are more like the roots of plants growing underground. In order to facilitate the next study, we might as well understand that heavenly stems and earthly branches's combination is like a tree. The heavenly stems are the branches of the trees above the ground, while the earthly branches are the roots of the trees that meander underground. This metaphor is of great significance in numerology, and everyone will gradually realize it.
The time of the birth of Ganzhi has been quite long, the details are unknown, but it is certain that it must have existed before the Shang Dynasty, because we can see that the emperors of the Shang Dynasty liked to take some names related to Ganzhi, such as Taijia, Tianyi and so on. Twelve months a year, there happen to be twelve earthly branches, so it is easy for us to think that the ancients originally used earthly branches to record the month, but later they began to record the year, month, day and hour with the sixty jiazi combined by heavenly stems and earthly branches, and there was a complete chronological method of earthly branches. On the day of the month, take one day to do one branch, and you will have what we usually call "birthdates".
There are ten heavenly stems and five five elements, but Jin Mu's fire, water and soil are divided into yin and yang, so 251 just matches the ten heavenly stems. For example, A is Yang wood, B is Yin wood, C is Yang fire and D is Yin fire. Specifically, there is a song that reads: "Oriental Jiamu, Southern Bingding Fire, Western Geng Xin Jin, Northern Rengui Water, and Central Wuji Soil."
ten-day stems have the attribute of yang in odd number, and yin in even number. One yin and one yang alternate with each other, and the adjacent stems have the relationship of five elements. For example, A, B, wood and butyl fire, butyl fire and Wuji soil, and so on.
in this way, the five-element attribute and even the orientation meaning of the ten-day stem are clear at a glance, which is very simple and clear. But the twelve earthly branches are far more complicated than the heavenly stems. We know that things above the ground are clear and easy to see clearly, but things below the ground are hidden deeply. Roots and roots are easily intertwined and difficult to distinguish, so the properties of earthly branches become complicated and difficult to distinguish.
We divide the Twelve Earthly Branches into three groups, with four groups, namely Siwang, Sisheng and Siwu.
Siwang, this is the simplest group. They are Zi, Wu, Mao and You. Their five elements are very simple, that is, Zi is yin water, Wu is yin fire, Mao is yin wood and You is yin gold. Because in ten days, decyl means yin water, so we say that decyl is hidden in the son. Similarly, we say that butyl is hidden in the noon, B is hidden in the base, and Xin is hidden in the unitary. The word "hidden" has a somewhat reserved meaning. The underground branch is naturally a hidden part. From another point of view, we can also think that Zi is the root of Guishui, Wu is the root of Ding Huo, Mao is the root of Ebony, and You is the root of Xinjin. The earthly branches are the roots left in the ground by the heavenly stems, but the four roots of meridian and Mao You are not entangled, so they are very simple and easy to distinguish.
Four students, this group is relatively simple, namely Yin, Si, Shen and Hai. Yin, this root is entangled by three segments of roots, which are Yang wood, Yang fire and Yang soil, that is, Jia Prope Wu, in which Jia Mu's roots are thicker, and we call Jia Mu Yin's ground support the qi; Third, it is also entangled by three roots, namely, yang fire, yang soil and yang gold, that is, propyl heptyl, in which the third fire is the root of the third; Shen is also formed by intertwining three roots, namely, Yang soil, Yang gold and Yang water, that is, E Geng Ren, in which Geng Jin is Shen's earthly branch and qi; Hai, this is unique, because two roots are intertwined. They are Yang water and Yang wood, that is, nonyl, in which nonyl water is the root gas of Hai.
We can easily find two laws: First, the Tibetan stems of this group of earthly branches are all positive. Yes, methylprednisolone happens to be all positive five elements, and by calculation, except for bentonite, it has appeared three times, and the rest have appeared twice. Second, the original gas of these four branches is wood fire and gold water, but there is no soil. Yes, the above two points fully show that soil is a special five elements. Why is it special?
let's look at ku 4. Apart from the four prosperous and four students mentioned above, there are only four ugly people left in the twelve branches, which is what we want to talk about. These four branches of the earth are all earthy, among which Chenxu's earthy is the earthy, and Ugly is the earthy. The basic characteristics of soil are storage, bearing and tolerance, so we have the name of four reservoirs. And these four libraries happen to be the other four libraries in the five elements, Chen is a reservoir, Xu is a fire library, ugly is a treasury, not a wooden library.
The vault, also called the tomb, is where the five elements hide and rest. Since it is a reservoir, there must be water in it, but the water in the tomb is obviously negative, so there is cassia water in it. In the same way, there is Yin Huo Ding in the fire vault, Yin Jin Xin in the ugly vault, and Yin Mu Yi in the wooden vault.
In aquatic wood, the roots and buds of some plants often grow in the reservoirs, so there are trees in the morning, which are also hidden in the tombs. Naturally, they are Yin Muyi. Wood makes a fire, and sporadic sparks often burst out in the wood library, so there is a sinister fire when it misses. Gold begets water, and there is yin water in the ugly treasury. The only difference is the fire storehouse. Fire was born of earth, but the original gas of fire was earth, so the rusticity grew stronger and stronger, and finally Yin Jinxin was born from the rusticity.
to sum up, the four repositories all contain three elements, namely, E-Pentecox in the morning, E-Pentecox in the middle, E-Pentecox in the ugly, and E-Hexecox in the middle.
OK, here, the relationship between heavenly stems and earthly branches and the five elements of Yin and Yang is basically clear. Friends who don't understand can continue to ask questions, and I will give you supplementary answers. Interested friends, please continue to pay attention to the next article.
