Basic information of conjunctions in southern cities

Chengnan couplets are famous five-character couplets written by Han Yu and Meng Jiao.

It initiated a new conjunction grammar. Han Yu made the first sentence, Meng Jiao made the second and third sentences, and then Han Yu made the fourth and fifth sentences. So take turns to write down, and finally Han Yu ended in one sentence. The whole poem 154 rhyme, 308 words.

This method of connecting sentences is called cross-sentence connection. In the past, everyone wrote two or four sentences, and the concept was complete. Duality was also constructed by everyone. Now, starting from the second sentence, Han Yu should check the last sentence first, and then do the first sentence of the second sentence, leaving it to the other party to find the next sentence. This prevents a person from writing couplets by himself.

In terms of ideological content, first make up the other party's poem, and then put forward half a concept for the other party to make up. Such conjunctions are more difficult to make. Lu Guimeng, Pi Rixiu and Song Qi no longer use this kind of couplets in Tang poetry after Han Yu created it. After the Song Dynasty, there were many couplets writers, who generally wrote five-character or seven-character poems by means of cross-sentence couplets. It is no longer necessary for everyone to make two or four sentences. There are few people in long queues.
