Mrs. Liu is afraid that there are many people in Chunshan, which is not conducive to Cao Kun's illness. She rented a house outside and took Cao Kun to live. She also invited Liang Baojian, a western doctor, and Baledi, a German doctor, to treat her carefully, and she stayed by the bed all day to take care of herself. A few months later, Mrs. Liu saw that Cao Kun was getting better and better, so she took him back to Quanshan. After Cao Kun's condition improved, his mood gradually improved. He gets up early every morning and goes to the yard to practice his own set of tiger boxing, but
Then I went back to my house to meditate and practice qigong. After breakfast, I either practice writing or draw pictures. Cao Kun loves Chinese painting, especially good at painting plum blossoms, rocks, crabs and a brush tiger. He has an arc-shaped chapter engraved with "a little plum blossom heart" and stamps the back of each plum blossom painting. He also has a black lithograph engraved with "the same from generation to generation". Some of the banners he painted or wrote were often stamped with a chapter in the upper right corner, which read "the weak crown of serving the country for 40 years and returning to the field after 70 years", and posthumous title marked "the old man with a happy life" or "Zuo Bo" in the lower right corner.
Cao Kun often invited some literati to guide his painting and calligraphy. Qi Baishi and Cao Kun have a very deep friendship. Most of Cao's seals are carved by Qi Baishi, and there is often a "cloth" on the side of the seal (yellow is Qi Baishi's word).
Cao Kun is not only good at painting and calligraphy, but also quite literate. According to Linda Gao's descendants, Linda Gao's son-in-law Li Bofu is one of Cao Kun's favorite sons-in-law. One day, Li Bofu asked Cao Kun to name his newly decorated study. After a little thinking, Cao Kun scribbled down the three characters "Boya Xuan" and matched it with the couplet "Song Qingzhi in the Millennium, Peng Hong in Wan Li's heart". In his later years, two events at home dealt a great blow to Cao Kun's spirit.
First, Mrs. Chen's son Cao fought with his original wife Yuan Yunzhen (Yuan Shikai's daughter), and Cao shot and wounded Yuan Yunzhen in despair. After Yuan was hospitalized, Yuan Jia was unwilling to give up. At this time, although Yuan Shikai had passed away, Yuan Jia was still very strong. Cao was accused and detained, and Cao initiated a lawsuit with Yuan. Tianjin newspapers also rushed to report this "anecdote". Later, Cao was released by Mrs. Liu and divorced Yuan Yunzhen. This incident made Cao Kun feel very embarrassed. Whenever his family mentioned it, there was a resentment on his face.
Second, Cao Kun's adopted son Cao Shaoshan, although Cao Kun's son Cao Shiyue was born soon, still holds the property power of Cao Kun family. Cao Kun's children are very dissatisfied and often have conflicts for this. Cao Kun couldn't bear to be too hard on Cao Shaoshan for the sake of Cao Rui, so he couldn't control this messy situation at home, which became his heart disease. He often sighed and was very upset.
