How to write an eight-point rest?

The notation of octave rest is to add a short horizontal line under quarter note (such as 5) or quarter rest (0). This short horizontal line is called "time reduction line". Every time a time reduction line is added, the time value is reduced by half. For example, a quarter note needs to be sung once, and its duration is reduced by half after adding a delay line, which means that the note becomes an eighth note (the same is true for the rest).

Extended data

The basic relationship between sound values: the ratio of each larger sound value to its nearest smaller sound value is 2: 1. For example, a whole note is equal to two and a half notes; A total rest is equal to two binary rests, and so on.

A rest is a mark on the score, which is used to mark the temporary pause or stillness of music and the length of the pause. The use of rest can create different emotional expressions in musical phrases.

The naming of rest is mainly based on the length of pause, which is divided into multiple full rest, full rest, binary rest, four-point rest, eight-point rest, sixteen-point rest, thirty-two-point rest and sixty-four-point rest.

The rest can also be added with an additional point to adjust the length of the music pause, and named as the original rest name, preceded by the word "additional point", such as an additional point binary rest.
