The eight-character true legend of Guiguzi

In China, a lot of times, the storm is stirring and heroes come forth in large numbers. Among them, the most worthy of this sentence is the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. A hundred schools of thought contend and a hundred schools of thought contend, which makes our whole Chinese mainland show an extremely active state in culture and thought.

Among them, the most "divine" person is neither Confucius nor Mozi, but Guiguzi. He knew the secret and never left the Ghost Valley, but his disciples could stir up the world situation and affect the rise and fall of all countries.

The early guiguzi was just a fortune teller on the street. People who come to ask him about ghosts and gods don't believe it, but strangely enough, Guiguzi can count every time he comes to ask about divination.

As a result, Guiguzi's reputation for fortune-telling has always had a far-reaching impact. Later, Guiguzi began to take messages and answer questions, thus cultivating a group of talents. Su Qin, Zhang Yi, Sun Bin and Pang Juan are all his disciples.

And Pang Juan is the protagonist of our article today. Guiguzi once commented that he was about to go down the mountain: "I am proud when I meet a sheep, and I am embarrassed when I meet a horse", which finally came true. What the hell is going on here? Let's have a look!

Pang Juan was a famous strategist in the Warring States Period and a disciple of the hermit Guiguzi. At that time, Pang Juan and the famous military strategist Sun Bin had deep feelings and lived in harmony under Guiguzi.

One day, Pang Juan went down the mountain to fetch water, and he was very moved when he heard that Wei had paid a lot of money for being virtuous. You know, he studied hard under Guiguzi for three years and naturally learned some art of war. Hearing the news, I went back to the mountains to say goodbye to my master Guiguzi.

However, back in the mountains, Pang Juan began to hesitate. After all, he studied with Guiguzi for three years, and both the art of war and military affairs were taught by Guiguzi. The friendship between teachers and students is also deep. Guiguzi is not allowed, so naturally you can't go down the mountain.

But Guiguzi, as a human being, naturally understood the disciples' thoughts, and he also took the initiative to let Pang Juan go down the mountain. However, Pang Juan has not joined the WTO for several years. Although I feel talented, I still have some worries about my future.

Guiguzi immediately asked Pang Juan to fold a flower at the foot of the mountain to help him infer the future. So Pang Juan picked a grass flower from the mountain and gave it to Guiguzi. Guiguzi saw the grass flower, so he calculated it carefully for Pang Juan, and the result was obtained in a short time.

Guiguzi told Pang Juan that Wei is a place where great things can be achieved, but he should remember not to cheat others there, or he will die a natural death. It's a pity that Pang Juan only happily went down the mountain when he heard the great achievements in front, and the second half sentence was not taken to heart.

Guiguzi could not help knowing that Pang Juan went in one ear and out the other, so he gave him an eight-character advice: "Be proud when you meet a sheep, but embarrassed when you meet a horse". In this way, Pang Juan bid farewell to Guiguzi and Sun Bin, and went to Wei alone.

After Pang Juan went down the mountain, he rushed to Wei non-stop. First, I went to Xiangwangcuo's home, talked with Wangcuo about the art of war, showed my talents and introduced myself to Wangcuo. At that time, Wang Cuo didn't want to miss this talent, so he immediately introduced him to Wei Huiwang.

At that time, when Pang Juan wanted to see Wei Huiwang, it happened that Wei Huiwang was having dinner, and the chef had just brought a steamed sheep to the king of Wei. At that time, Pang Juan was delighted, because he remembered Guiguzi's words "I am proud when I meet a sheep".

Pang Juan immediately showed his talents in front of Wei Huiwang to win the favor of Wang Wei. At that time, Pang Juan was a teacher, but Guiguzi was superior to others in knowledge and talent, and he loved to show off, so he was naturally reused by Wei Huiwang.

Pang Juan, of course, is not a world-famous person. His talent is called "star". During the reign of Wei Huiwang, many wars dragged the national strength to the brink of collapse, so Wei Huiwang promoted a strong young military general headed by Pang Juan.

Later, Pang Juan also lived up to expectations, led the army to wage war against Zhao, and won a great victory, which matched Handan, the capital of Zhao. Later, Wei Huiwang transferred Pang Juan to the front battlefields of Wei and Qin, but Pang Juan didn't let him down. He not only defeated Qin, but also attacked the capital of Qin.

Unwilling, Zhao joined forces with Qin and Qi to attack Wei, and Wei's army defeated the allied forces of the three countries under the correct command of Pang Juan, which contributed to the signing of the treaty of alliance between Zhao, Qin and Qi.

What he relishes most about such an excellent military general is not his record, but his feud with his classmate Sun Bin and the fulfillment of his prediction that he will die in the face of Ma Su.

A year after Pang Juan went down the mountain, Sun Bin received a letter from Pang Juan to the effect that he had been reused by Wang Wei. He hoped that Sun Bin could also go down the mountain and help Wang Wei build a great cause with him.

Sun Bin was very happy to see this letter. Now I quit my master and went down the mountain to join Wei. But because Sun Bin and Pang Juan inherited from each other, and Sun Bin was better than Pang Juan, Pang Juan framed Sun Bin in jealousy.

Pang Juan framed Sun Bin on charges of "collaborating with the enemy and betraying the country". He not only lost his legs, but also left a humiliating tattoo on his face. Sun Bin dragged his mutilated body and fled to his native land, Qi State.

Sun Bin, who fled to Qi, began his revenge. In the state of Qi, he has continuously developed himself, gradually demonstrated his excellent military capabilities, and gradually gained reuse, becoming a general of the State of Qi who can compete with Pang Juan.

In the Battle of Maling, Sun Bin killed 100,000 Wei Jun under the command of Pang Juan, and captured Wang Wei Shen alive. And Pang Juan was exhausted, seeing that the defeat was decided, and committed suicide in a rage.

And Maling, this place, is exactly the word "meeting a horse" approved by Guiguzi. Sun Bin and Pang Juan are both talented people, not to mention their master Guiguzi. Just give him these eight words of prophecy, you can see Pang Juan's extraordinary ability.

In fact, from the story, Pang Juan's misfortune comes from "jealousy". He was jealous of his classmate Sun Bin's talent, so he began to frame Sun Bin, which led to Sun Bin's revenge. And this jealousy also made him gradually lose in the later battle.

When you are blinded by jealousy, you can't see things objectively. This is the case in Pang Juan, but you should know that when you are jealous of others, you also have a lot to envy yourself.
