Treatment and maintenance of sudden deafness in traditional Chinese medicine

Sudden deafness, referred to as sudden deafness in Chinese medicine, refers to an acute hearing-impaired otopathy with sudden onset, sudden decline or loss of hearing, or accompanied by tinnitus, dizziness, deafness and other symptoms. This disease mostly occurs in adults, both men and women, especially middle-aged people, with an average onset age of 48.49 years. At present, the incidence of sudden deafness tends to be younger, and the incidence of 20-40 years old is on the rise.

First, the cause of the disease

The real cause and mechanism of sudden deafness is still unclear. Western medicine believes that the onset of sudden deafness is mostly related to virus infection, labyrinthine inflammation, inner ear vascular diseases (bleeding, spasm, embolism), allergies, endocrine disorders, autonomic nervous dysfunction and so on. The inducing factors are mostly related to colds, mental stress, stress and mood swings (such as anxiety, depression and rage). ), drinking, fatigue, lack of sleep, thinking, worrying.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the onset of sudden deafness is mostly caused by the pathogenic middle ear pulse, heart and liver stagnation and stagnation of qi and blood, which leads to poor qi and blood circulation in the ear, or deficiency of both heart and spleen, deficiency of qi and blood, loss of kidney essence, ear pulse dystrophy and hearing loss.

Second, Chinese medicine treatment

Sudden deafness is an emergency with severe hearing loss, which should be diagnosed in time and treated as soon as possible. A large number of data show that the earlier the treatment, the higher the probability of hearing recovery, and the treatment within 72 hours is the most critical.

Whether sudden deafness can be recovered is related to age, treatment time, hearing loss, dizziness and systemic diseases. Generally speaking, the older you get, the worse your hearing recovery will be. The earlier the treatment, the higher the recovery rate. 72 hours is the golden treatment time, and the curative effect drops obviously after more than one week. The prognosis of high-frequency hearing impairment is poor, and the prognosis of low-frequency hearing impairment is good. The prognosis of vertigo patients is poor; Systemic diseases, such as cerebral arteriosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes, rheumatism, or having a cold before illness, alcohol and tobacco addiction, have a poor prognosis. Some data show that the hearing recovery rate of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment is higher than that of single traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment. It is suggested that integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment should be adopted as soon as possible to improve the hearing recovery rate.
