Why is Shenzhen Lianhuashan Park called Lianhuashan?

Historically, Lianhua Mountain once belonged to three villages and had three different names. From the south of the top of the mountain belongs to Gangsha. The villagers of Gangsha call Lianhua Mountain Dawangling. The north slope of the mountain belongs to Shangmeilin and Lower Meilin. The upper Meilin calls it Lianhualiang, while the villagers of Lower Meilin call it Jiujiang Ridge.

Lianhua Mountain is an important commanding height. During the Anti-Japanese War, after the Japanese army occupied Shenzhen, they built a fort on Lianhua Mountain and used this fort to attack the Dongjiang Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Column. After liberation, in order to protect the border, the People's Liberation Army Engineering Corps also built military facilities on Lianhua Mountain in 1952.

Among the three different names of the three villages, the one that was both popular and nice was selected, with slight changes, and the name "Lotus Mountain" was officially marked on the map.
