Lin is a professor and a famous translator in the School of Foreign Languages of China Ocean University. Born in 1952, graduated from Jilin University majoring in Japanese, and is now a professor of Japanese Department of China Ocean University. He is familiar to readers for his translation of Haruki Murakami's Norwegian Forest. Since then, he has translated 32 volumes of Selected Works of Haruki Murakami, Natsume Soseki, Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Kawabata Yasunari, Jing Shangjing and Kaii Higashiyama. Lin is highly praised by readers for his elegant writing style and excellent grasp of the atmosphere of Japanese literary works. Chen, a Japanese-born writer in Taiwan Province, China, was born in Kobe, Taiwan Province and Taibei, China.
