It sounds like fate. "Big Crab" and "Xiangshou" became my two favorite pets more than a month ago.
In the hot summer, when our family went to the park to enjoy the cool air, my wife accidentally discovered that he had a talent for fishing, so he became interested in fishing. And day after day, almost without interruption. As a result, there were many carps and goldfish of all sizes in the house. What was even more surprising was that we also found turtles and crabs. Fish and turtles bring surprises, while crabs bring surprise first and then fright. Every time my lover is frightened, I try my best to bring him back. After returning home, it is my business. Many people ask, "Aren't you scared?" Of course I was scared at first. Strangely enough, when my husband said he was scared, I carefully looked at the crab's appearance and found that it was similar to the crab. Turtles are similar in that they both have a hard shell. The difference is that its eight legs are hairy and have two large "pincers". That one is the scariest one, and you may be caught by it accidentally. However, I found that its "pincers" cannot reach the back, so if you want to catch it, it is easy to just grab the shell on the back.
We had four medium-sized river crabs, but we didn’t know how to raise them. They all died within a few days, which was a pity.
After that, he brought back a small red crab, which was very cute! So I looked it up online and found out it’s called “Red Claw Hand Crab”. I checked and found that crabs eat fish, shrimps, and potatoes, so I fed them potatoes. To my surprise, it really eats potatoes and looks very elegant. It uses two large "pliers" to pierce the potato, and then puts it little by little into the small one's almost invisible mouth. Of course, the pierced potato is also difficult to see clearly.
This gave me the interest and hope to raise it. I also feed it vegetables and apples. I found that it likes apples very much.
Even though it is so small and very beautiful, in fact, it is very powerful and a bit fierce. Another time when I was changing the water for you, it actually pinched me with its "pliers", but luckily it didn't break.
In addition, one thing is also very strange. There was once a male river crab with a shell as big as an egg. His chelicerae were very large and had two tufts of hair. He was lively and active. He often ran out of the tank and played hide and seek with us. Hidden in dark corners, usually under cabinets. We raised it together with "Xiangshou". "Xiangshou" always likes to stand on it. We thought they got along very well.
But one day when I went back at noon, I found that the river crab was dead. He was fine in the morning, why did he suddenly die inexplicably? I was shocked by what I saw. The "Xiangshou" held the two legs of the river crab tightly with one foot, and one of the crab's big "pincers" pinched the other cheliped, which looked very painful. I can't explain this situation. I don't know if this counts as suicide, but I think maybe he shouldn't be raised with Xiangshou.
Later, we got another big river crab. I named it "Big Crab" and it is still living well. I let it out for a walk every day.
It was a day during the National Day. It was already past ten o'clock in the evening, and I had already fallen asleep under the quilt. My lover called and said that he had caught a big crab and could not remove it from the hook and needed my help. So I drove to the rescue. When I got there, I saw only four or five people gathered around the open space by the water in the park. I only heard my husband say, "Wait a moment, my wife will be here soon." After I passed by, three big men and a woman gathered around to watch my crab. I gently blocked the crab with a bucket lid to prevent it from running around. I gently grabbed its feet with my hands and took off the hook. Come down, put it in the bucket and take it back. I thought it was very well-behaved, because it didn't move around when I grabbed it.
After coming back, I have been raising my "big crab" alone. The "big crab" is actually very docile. Despite its size, it was placed in a bucket with a diameter of about 20 centimeters and its legs and feet were not fully extended. However, she never threatened me, let alone pinched me. I also feed it apples, potatoes, and vegetable leaves. It is very timid and always eats when we can’t see it.
Unlike "Xiang Shou", "Xiang Shou" is bold and will eat when it wants. Moreover, when you get close to it, it will dance its "big pincers" up and down to demonstrate.
(The bucket I brought back with the "big crab" has a bottom diameter of about fifteen centimeters)
Although "Xiangshou" is a bit fierce, I Love it. It has a lot of vitality, and I like how it dances its "pincers", like a threat, but also like a "welcome". Xiangshou crab, also known as "蛟螞", also known as "Liyunzi", is called Liyun because its two large claws resemble the ancients' "bowed hands in salute". It is very cute. I put a brown-red stone for it, and it always stands on the stone, as if that is its territory. Maybe it's also because the color of the stone is similar to it, and it's used to protect yourself. Who knows!
"Xiangshou" and "Big Crab" bring me endless fun, I love them. We live together in such harmony.
