Brief introduction of "Dongfanghong No.1"

1September, 1969, the prototype of Dongfanghong-1 satellite was completed, and the satellite systems met the index requirements, and the technical status was normal. 1969 165438+1October16, Jiuquan Satellite Launch Base, China's first two-stage medium-and long-range launch vehicle, is preparing to launch. Ignition took off, and after a few minutes, the target disappeared.

Just three days later, the wreckage of the rocket was found on the Gobi Desert, 680 kilometers away from the launch location. A program distributor failed and the second stage of the rocket failed to ignite, which led to the rocket's self-destruction in the air and the first test failed.
