When it comes to Great Wall’s new cars in the past two years, what impresses you most?
Price, configuration, power?
Probably not!
The most memorable thing about it is probably its various weird names.
All kinds of dogs, all kinds of cats, all kinds of coffee...
But Great Wall feels that this is not enough, and recently added two more types: Ruge and Xiaolong.
For a while, I couldn’t tell which sect these two belonged to. I just knew that they were both new energy sources.
So, can Haval’s new energy sources be supported?
01
Two new energy SUVs
Recently, the Haval brand has released the official pictures of two new cars, Haval A07 and Haval B07 DHT models. You can see from the tail logo It can be seen that they may be named Ruge or Xiaolong.
Ruge, I don’t know what allusion it comes from; as for Xiaolong, it seems that he is using this name to attract a large number of military fans in the country?
How about the vehicle itself?
As can be seen from the application drawing, the tailgate of the Haval A07 has the word PHEV, proving that it is a plug-in hybrid model.
What is strange is that it uses the closed front face of a pure electric model. Maybe there will be a pure electric version?
Haval A07 is positioned as a compact SUV, with a body length of 4600mm and a wheelbase of 2710mm.
In terms of power, this car is expected to be equipped with a 1.5L plug-in hybrid system. This arrangement is obviously a low-end route.
Haval B07 DHT is more recognizable in appearance design, using T-shaped headlights and a large-size borderless grille.
In addition, the body length of this car can reach up to 4771mm, and the wheelbase reaches 2800mm, which is the size of a medium-sized SUV.
In terms of power, the Haval B07 is also expected to be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a 1.5L engine and an electric motor, but the name of this car has DHT, and it may use the DHT hybrid technology of the Great Wall Lemon platform.
In terms of power, Haval B07 is more diverse.

The name and product lineup need to be changed
Currently, the names of these two cars have not been announced yet. Ruge, Xiaolong, Ru Ge MAX and Xiaolong MAX are both possible.
I have to say that the Great Wall is really good at naming.
However, these newly launched models of Great Wall Motors may only be remembered by their names. The WEY brand has collapsed across the board, Euler’s annual sales are less than 100,000 units, and Haval’s sales have also declined.
Those models with personalized names have basically not entered the mainstream market except for big dogs.
Haval has now launched two blockbuster models equipped with hybrid systems. This is the right path, but its name and product lineup need to be improved.
It makes sense to name Euler's women's car after "cat", but naming a mid-sized SUV after coffee, or naming an SUV aimed at young people "first love" is too brainless. .
Haval also has an obvious problem: too many models but not enough quality.
Haval has many models, but except for the hardcore off-road H9 and the Big Dog disguised as hardcore off-road, the other models are all ordinary compact SUVs with too serious internal consumption.
It is best for the two new cars from Haval to find their own product positioning and form differentiation.
Continuing internal consumption will not be beneficial to a brand like Haval, which has almost no achievements in the field of new energy.
Conclusion
Haval is actively transforming into new energy sources, which is a good thing, but it cannot bring the mistakes made in the field of fuel vehicles to the new energy market. Otherwise, there is really not much time left for it.
