Eight-character poems inscribed on tablets

The words "yellow silk, young woman, grandson and mortar" that Cao Cao saw were actually a crossword puzzle. Cao Cao walked 30 miles before he thought of the answer, which can only explain one problem. Cao Cao is very stupid. And another wise man, when he saw these eight words, immediately knew the answer, that person is Yang Xiu.

Hmm? ! ! ! Even Cao Cao, who is smarter than me, pushed out ... Yang Xiu, pawn!

Oh, oh, of course, Cao Cao's murder of Yang Xiu was a fabrication by himself. At this time, Cao Cao was very generous and praised Yang Xiu's cleverness.

This matter should start with the Spring and Autumn Period and the famous Wu Zixu in the Spring and Autumn Period.

Wu Zixu's father, Wu She, was then the Prince of Chu, who was responsible for teaching the Prince Jianping of Chu. The Prince was framed by treacherous court official Fei Wuji, and Wu Zixu's father Wu She and his younger brother Wu Shang were implicated, both of whom were killed by King Chu Ping.

Wu Zixu fled Chu and vowed to avenge his father and brother. He fled to the State of Wu, became friends with famous assassins Zhu You and Yao Li, assassinated Wu Wangliao and his son Qing Ji, and helped King He Lv of Wu to succeed to the throne.

Wu Zixu was highly valued by He Lv, the king of Wu, and elected Sun Wu, a famous master of the art of war in history, as marshal, and sent his troops to defeat Chu. Wu Zixu attacked Ying, the capital of Chu, dug the tomb of King Chu Ping, and flogged 300 corpses to avenge his father.

Some people say that it is wrong for Wu Zixu to dig graves and whip corpses, but in fact, it is right to complain directly. Only in this way can we deter some people who want to do bad things and believe that there will be less misfortune.

Since then, He Lv, King of Wu, was shot and killed by Gou Jian, King of Yue. Wu Zixu avenged Fu Cha, the king of Wu, defeated Yue and captured Gou Jian. As a result, Fu Cha listened to the slanderers' slanderers and gave Wu Zixu a generous gift, ordering people to put Wu Zixu's body in a leather bag made by Marco and throw it into the Qiantang River.

Later, as Wu Zixu expected, Wu was destroyed by the state of Yue. Fu Cha was ashamed to see Wu Zixu again. After covering her eyes with a cloth, she committed suicide by raising her sword.

After Wu Zixu's death, Wudi people honored Wu Zixu as the tide god in memory of him. Every year on the fifth day of May, during the Dragon Boat Festival, they will hold sacrificial activities to welcome the gods of Wu Zixu and pray for the rivers to be calm and the disasters to subside. This is also one of the origins of the Dragon Boat Festival.

In the Eastern Han Dynasty, there was a filial daughter named Cao E in Caojiabao, Shangyu (now Shaoxing, Zhejiang). This Cao E is the owner of the grave of the woman whom Cao Cao met.

Cao E's father Cao Xu is good at playing and singing, and he is a local wizard. On the Dragon Boat Festival in the second year of Han 'an in Shun Di in the Eastern Han Dynasty (143), a local sacrificial ceremony was held to welcome Wu Jun (the tide god Wu Zixu). Cao Xu went upstream by boat and prayed as he walked. Unfortunately, Cao Xu fell into the water and drowned. His body was not found.

Cao E was only 14 years old at that time. In order to find her father, she "cried along the river and stayed up all night." According to legend, Cao E threw his clothes into the river and prayed silently, "Father is here, and his clothes (some people say melons) will sink." In this way, Cao E searched by the river for seventeen days and nights. On the last day, the clothes she left suddenly sank into the river. Cao E thought his father's body was here, so he died in the river immediately.

Three days after Cao E threw herself into the river, her body floated out of the river, holding her father's body in her arms. Neighbors buried them. At the same time, in order to commemorate Cao E's filial piety, the river where Cao E splashed water was changed to Cao E River, and Cao E was regarded as the local water god.

Locals also began to offer sacrifices to Cao E on the Dragon Boat Festival every year. Therefore, Cao E's search for his father to jump into the river became one of the legends of the origin of the Dragon Boat Festival.

In the first year of Yuanjia (15 1), the county magistrate of Shangyu was still in office. In order to promote filial piety, Cao E was reburied beside the official road. His disciple Han Danchun was ordered to erect a monument for Cao E and praised Cao E's deeds as a speech. Later, Cao E Temple was built next to Cao E's tomb.

The Eastern Han Dynasty died in the second emperor of Huan Ling, so there were three kingdoms. However, Cao can't play now, and the protagonist is going to sing the finale.

Cai Yong, a great writer at that time, passed by Wu in order to escape the war. When he passed Cao E's tomb, he stopped to read the inscription on Cao E's tablet. Cai Yong praised it after reading it, and ordered people to carve eight Chinese characters beside the tablet. These eight words are "yellow silk, young woman, grandson and mortar".

Then, Cai Yong walked away contentedly.

Later, Cao Cao passed by Cao E's grave with Yang Xiu, the main book, and saw eight characters engraved beside the tablet.

Cao Cao asked Yang Xiu if he understood the meaning of this sentence. Yang Xiu is very clever. He can read it at a glance. Cao Cao also wanted to show off, so he told Yang Xiu, "Wait till I think it over." .

However, after walking three miles, Cao Cao finally understood the meaning of these eight words. Cao Cao and Yang Xiu each wrote a pair, which is the same. 30 Li, even riding a horse takes an hour or two, so this Cao Cao is really "stupid" compared with it.

So what exactly do these eight words mean?

It turns out that "yellow silk" is colored silk, and the combination of "color" and "silk" is the word "absolutely".

"Young woman" is a young woman, and the words "less" and "female" are "wonderful".

"Grandson" is of course the daughter's son, and "female" plus "son" is the word "good".

"mortar" is a bit difficult to understand. This utensil was used by the ancients to hold and grind spicy spices. "longevity" also means blooming and accommodating. Add the word "Xin" and the two words together are "words".

Well, the mystery is solved. Together, they mean "wonderful words", praising Cao E's inscription.

Cao Cao therefore sighed to Yang Xiu: "Although I am not as good as Qing, I feel three miles."

It took Cao Cao thirty miles to explain the meaning of eight words, because it took him so long to understand.

The story of Wu Zixu and Cao E is a real historical event recorded in the official history. As for the stories of Cai Yong, Cao Cao and Yang Xiu, they should all be invented by later generations. After all, Battle of Red Cliffs, the Mendes were burned a little badly. At that time, the place where Cao E's tomb was located was under the rule of Sun Quan. Cao Cao should not have the guts to take Yang Xiu for sightseeing in Shangyu.
