The method of distinguishing male and female turtles is as follows:
1. Look at the body shape, mainly used on turtles of the same age. Male turtles are a little thin, and female turtles are larger.
2. Look at the tail. Generally, male turtles have thicker and longer tails, while female turtles have thin and somewhat short tails.
3. Look at the nails. The male turtle's tail is slightly longer, while the female turtle's tail is shorter.
4. Look at the cloaca. Generally, the male's cloaca and plastron are somewhat far apart, and the shape is square. The female's cloaca is very close to the plastron, just at the posterior edge of the plastron, and inside, the shape is round.
5. Look at the carapace. Under normal circumstances, the carapace of female turtles is very short and very wide. The male is different, its carapace is very long and somewhat narrow.
